Coffee and croissant. perfetto.

We went with 7 people, including two elderly relatives. The hotel was able to meet all of our needs to make sure that the older people's needs for less stairs and private rooms were met. The receptionist was very kind and willing to go the extra mile to help us out. The breakfast was outstanding. The recommended parking garage was easy to walk to and very secure. We booked three rooms and each one was very comfortable and well-appointed with a great bed and a very nice bathroom that had excellent water pressure and modern fittings.

This place is strategically located half way from the Matera central station on the downhill way to the city centre, in five minutes walking distance to both places, with everything you may need for your stay easily reachable on foot. It looks like the apartment in the residential building has been rebuilt to serve as an interesting concept of a mini hotel with a couple of comfortable, pleasant and quiet rooms, and the common space with the front desk and a small dining area, offering the free access to coffee/tea machine around the clock. The staff provided the luggage storage and texted us as soon as the room was ready, which we appreciated very much. If we find the time to visit Matera again, we'll definitely book this place again.

Boasting a shared lounge and views of city, LA DIMORA DELLE 3 ZIE is a guest house set in a historic building in Matera, 600 metres from Matera Cathedral. Unique experience in a room carved out of stone that was nicely decorated. We were upgraded to a larger room. Location was perfect and hosts were all very friendly and helpful. One of the best breakfast offerings during our stay in Italy.

Le stanze del Maestro is located in Matera, 700 metres from Palombaro Lungo, 1.4 km from Matera Cathedral, and 1.4 km from MUSMA Museum. The room was exceptionally clean and the host was very welcoming and generous. He offered to take us on a tour of Matera right away. They made a great effort to help us regarding our allergies to fabric softeners and scents. The fridge, coffee maker and kettle are shared between two rooms, but the hosts provide plenty of provisions for an Italian style breakfast.
