The charming coastal town of Zarautz boasts the Narros Palace where Queen Isabella II chose to spend her summer holidays. This part of the coast is also a popular surfing spot and enjoys decent waves for beginner surfers, throughout the year. You can enjoy the vibrant, summertime atmosphere in the numerous bars and restaurants.

Excellent friendly helpful staff. Restaurant very flexible. We arrived late at 10.30 pm having had a car breakdown en route. The restaurant was still open so we had a good meal. We received a free upgrade to our room. Simple air conditioning which actually worked. Lively bar with good simple food. Very central.

Just 150 metres from the beach, Asador Pensión Lagunak is in the centre of Zarautz, 20 minutes' drive from San Sebastián. The guest house offers free Wi-Fi.

The bright rooms feature a balcony and have wooden floors. There is heating, rooms come with a desk and flat-screen TV, as well as a private bathroom with a shower.

This building architecture is what caught my attention. The photos of the interior of the building reveals finishes that you rarely find in new builds. The finishes in natural wood, the balcony that opens to a beautiful view where you are a few steps away from a market and a great bakery/Cafe where I started my day sampling the local specialties. The bathroom is extra large, which is such a nice feature. My experience with the staff was that they went way beyond normal hospitality to ensure that my stay was a great experience. One of the best ways for me to get my personal view across is to say that I have booked a second night stay here. I'm using it as a rest day to take a break from hiking my Camino de Santiago and to enjoy staying centrally in Zarautz. This location is so much nicer because you are staying where the locals are, vs only seeing the main tourist side of things. You get a better feel for the Basques. Tbe bakery café had me try several pastries that were specific to the Basques. This enhanced my experience. So I would say that if you want to truly experience this town, and the architecture, then this location gives you that plus more.

This was a real find in a wonderful ocean side town. Our host was completely accommodating meeting us when we were having trouble finding the property. Although it was in a historic building, it had recently been renovated. Great breakfast was included.

A good breakfast. But the best is the general atmosphere. With a lot of things and ghosts from the year 1893 !!! Maybe less comfort than a standard hotel but a real and good (his)story ! Strange and funny big house !
