Set on a cliff in 10 acres of subtropical gardens overlooking the Atlantic, this 5-star resort features an oceanfront spa, 3 swimming pools and direct access to oceanic waters. Everything - excellent service in the most comfortable hotel in a beautiful setting. Staff were friendly and courteous - nothing was too much trouble. Reid's has spoilt me and I doubt many other hotels will match it.

Set within a leafy garden, this hotel boasts an outdoor pool overlooking Funchal coastal cliffs. Pestana Vila Lido Madeira Ocean Hotel‘s studios are spacious and decorated with soft beige colours. How do you not love this hotel? It has the best location of any place we have stayed. We have been to Madeira four different times since 2017 but this is the first time staying at the Pestana Lido. The rooms are directly on the ocean where you hear the relaxing sound of the waves. The beds are very comfortable with wonderful linens. The Pestana staff is also remarkable. They go out of their way to make you feel special. My husband even had the breakfast staff sing happy birthday to him and gave him a cake to take back to our room! The Valentine’s 6 course meal was outstanding. The pool bar staff was awesome. Thank you for our fantastic 12 night stay! We will be back!

Located in the heart of Funchal’s Lido area, this 4-star hotel is a short walk from the city centre and boasts contemporary interiors and an outdoor pool with a terrace. Really large clean room with a comfy bed and usb charging points next to the bed Staff were friendly and check in was very fast Breakfast was not extensive but had everything you need Excellent location next to lots of lovely restaurants and bars, we found we didn’t need to walk into Funchal to find something to eat Excellent value for money
