Decorated with art works designed by artists, ARtINn 極寒藝術伝染装置 is located 3 km from Lake Kussharo. The property is situated 10 km from Lake Mashu and 400 metres from Kawayu Hot Spring. This is an amazingly beautiful hotel. The owner’s concept is so unique - each room is crafted with care. My room was extraordinary! The onsen baths are so comfortable, and it was lovely exploring the property. I loved the bonfire! The hospitality of the owner was above and beyond - he was so kind to me and made my trip an unforgettable one! Definitely check this place out!

Traveler's Inn Asanebo offers simple but homely Japanese-style accommodation a 7-minute walk from Kawayu Onsen Train Station. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious. I loved having conversations with the other guests and the owners. They make everyone feel welcome.

The Onsen is also much appreciated. There was even an easy to use printer to allow me to easily handle some business.

A 3-minute walk from Kawayu JR Train Station, Hotel Parkway features a hot spring baths, karaoke. Free Wi-Fi is available at the lobby, and a launderette is on-site. Wonderful 3 night stay in this beautiful area. Akan Mashu National Park is fabulous. Facility older, futon beds, inside and outside onsen and the most delicious food. Staff very attentive and eager to please. Our favourite place of 6 in Japan.

Oyado Kinkiyu from is a 5-minute public bus ride from Kawayu Onsen Train Station. Boasting 4 hot-spring baths, it serves traditional Japanese dinners and has a 24-hour front desk. A bit older hotel, but the room is fine, the breakfast is good and they have a great onsen.
