The 4-star Starhotels Excelsior is opposite Bologna Train Station and the airport bus terminal. It offers free WiFi throughout, modern interiors, a gourmet restaurant and a free gym. The hotel is comfy and modern with all the facilities. It is located in the busy area right next to the train station and in walking distance from the historic city center. There is a parking at the extra cost right behind the hotel.

Location: 12- 15 minutes to railway station. Directly parallel to Strada Indendenta. Takes 15 minutes walk to Piazza Maggiore. Reception desk service: Wonderful. Mr. Vanni is very competent and nice. He was very kind to solve a small problem I had. Room and room service: the room very good and comfortable. Very nicely decorated in cream colors and provides an enjoyable atmosphere. The room was cleaned every day and the room service was very nice too. Breakfast: was really good for a 3 star hotel. Next to bread, ham and cheese, fruits, yogurt, etc. And.. two big fresh baked cakes in slices to enjoy. Cappuccino and macchiato really good. Nice cozy breakfast room. Extra: The reception desk is very helpful.

If you find this type of buildings appealing you’ll love it here. The staff was very kind to me. The AC worked very well and the room was dark which was great given how hot it is these days. I liked the location. All in all I had a wonderful stay!
