This family-run hotel is a 20-minute walk from Bremen's city centre and just 4-minutes from a beach along the Weser river. The breakfast buffet and Wi-Fi internet are free here. Although our room was on the "ground floor" it was actually a 1/2 basement as the site is on a slope. The windows are therefore quite high up and relatively small but we liked that and using the rear entrance to the car park meant we exited easily to street level without going through the entire building. The room was light and airy despite the smaller windows. The bathroom was spacious and spotless and the bed super-comfy. There was a well-stocked mini bar but we did buy anything from it. Breakfast was really good and all staff super friendly. The location is great. You feel as though you are in the countryside but the centre is only a 30 minute walk away. We used the little ferry (1.60€ single journey and about 5 minutes walk from the hotel) on our way into the city, which meant we walked past some of the points of interest on the way in, thus saving walking time. You just turn up and wait for the little boat to come ack across the river. On the way back we walked over the bridge and back along the paths through the woods. We clocked the time and it took just about 30 minutes and we were not rushing at all. There are a couple of restaurants within a couple of minutes walk (Italian in the tennis club - closed on Mondays - and German round the corner - closed on Tuesdays) and both were really nice.

This family-run hotel is located in the Neustadt district of Bremen, a 3-minute walk from the River Weser. All rooms in Hotel Westfalia offer a flat-screen TV and free Wi-Fi. The room was spacious and a large window provided a lot of light. Surprisingly, though the hotel was next to a busy road/street, we heard no noise. It was exceptionally quiet. The location of the hotel is excellent—very easy to walk to the old town and to all the sights that interested us.

Host came to greet us and offered to carry our heavy luggages up the stairs to first floor. We reach the unit at night time, the tram stops in front of an abandoned building. There are a few kebab food store nearby with 2 supermarkets at a walking distance. Attraction area is 2 tram stop away from the unit. Its better to walk. Tram ticket = 3 euros one way.
