Fort Meyers Beach is still in a state of rebuilding. It's sad to see so much damage and all the buildings that are gone. Very few eesorts or restaurants even open. Fort Meyers itself, too big, too busy for us!!

Perhaps the rate was high because this was peak season, perhaps because the Fort Myers area is unusually expensive, who knows? I don't think there was anything cheaper without going into really sketchy places. The area around the motel was not bad but not good either.
