the staff was so attentive. i lost my wallet and they were in touch with the police for me, and even walked over to the station to make a report and to call the last store in which i used the card. And that was without asking… they offered.

The hotel itself is wonderful, the rooms are spacious and modern, and the lounge area is fabulous. We didn't have a chance to utilise the outdoor swimming pool due to rain, but we had a direct view to it from our room and it looked impeccable.
The area is calm and green and allows for nice walks in nature and with a quick 5 minutes drive, you'll be in the heart of the Obidos Vila.

Amazing location inside the castle within the walls - staying overnight was magical as in the evening and mornings you have the old town to yourself. Our room was small but comfortable

Everything was great.
Everything was great. The owners were very welcoming offering us a glass of sherry upon arrival and generously offering us extra food (fruit and crackers) to take when we were leaving. Very nice people.

Sam and Rich could not have been more welcoming.
They did so much to insure our comfort, from stocking the refrigerator to providing an electric mattress pad (sheer bliss!). The bed and pillows were very comfortable and cozy. It is a lovely property with a beautiful view. We would not hesitate to stay there again or recommended to anyone.

I wasn't there long enough to do as much exploring as I would have liked. The castle was very interesting wandering in and around there. If I had more time I would have liked to explore more of the town.

We went to see the Christmas lights.
We went to see the Christmas lights. The main street is beautiful. Also went to Vila de Natal. If you don't have children with you not really worth the price. Because we spent 2 night we had a day to walk around the outside of the walls also.

We were really looking forward to staying in the castle but...
We were really looking forward to staying in the castle but the room we booked was actually in a building attached to the castle. We were not at all happy with our room which disappointed us but the town inside the walls of the castle was fun to walk around. The restaurant at the hotel was very good with great service. If we were to visit again, which we won't, we would avoid room 002 as it is a bit like a dungeon being the lowest room in the hotel.
We loved the place! It was very clean and well organized, it had all the equipment for cooking. The host takes great care for the details, even the decorations and pleasant smell. The place is very spacious and cozy. It has two big bedrooms with comfortable beds and space to put your clothes. It has a clean bathroom, a beautiful comfy living room and well-equipped kitchen. I addition there is a garden with table, chairs and grill place with is an additional asset. It was calm and quite space, perfect for relaxetion and visiting Óbidos.
Real castle feeling with all the trimmings. Up and down stairs, through passages and rooms complete with suits of armor and period paintings. Other guests congregate in the common spaces allowing shared experiences and recommendations. Breakfast was wonderful. Bedrooms are a little cramped, but clean and comfortable and it's a step back in time with all that goes wi t h it. Torre de Mandy's is a fun place to stay and he owner is very welcoming if you want that medieval feel while you visit Obidos, stay here.
The host was wonderful, attentive and asking me daily if everything was good. She also prepared the breakfast each morning. The terrace was amazing, so spacious and comfortable and private as you were above the streets. It's also quiet here below the castle. You can basically park anywhere you can find a spot. The host also offered to do my laundry, which was very appreciated as I only came with a carryon for 6 weeks of travel. I ended up extending my stay here because it was so lovely.
As part of any Portugal or Spain trip it is a “must” to experience a pousada (or posada in Spain) stay at least once. We have done this several times before in Spain - this was our first Portugal experience. The facilities, ambience and sense of history and grandeur in these hotels is definitely an experience worth splurging for at least once per trip. The Obidos Castelo pousada was definitely right in line with that expectation.
Beautiful facilities. Too bad we could not use the pool and the terraces as much as we would like to, because it is a little cold in the winter.
Excellent breakfast, including champagne for mimosas!
Staff dressed in medieval attire – very interesting and complements the decor of the small but gorgeous hotel
Very convenient free parking for our rental car.
just a few steps away from Óbidos castle walls.
The location was perfect, right next to the castle in the heart of medieval Obidos. The guesthouse was very comfortable and cosy, a great place to unwind after exploring the town. Lots of restaurants nearby. Great breakfast, a comfortable night’s sleep. Staying a night or two is highly recommended as you can truly appreciate the serenity of Obidos once all the day visitors leave.
It is located a little further off which we liked because it had ample space and a free parking on-site and it was very quiet. It also has a wonderful view of the castle and outdoor tables where you can sit and enjoy the view and the beautiful garden. Breakfast was fantastic which a lot of variety and fresh fruit. The room was big and clean.
Beautiful old home inside the city walls, recently renovated. A perfect location to experience Obidos. Friendly, hospitable couple who own and manage the house. Clean and modem amenities. Generous breakfast including fresh croissants and pastel de Nata that she makes fresh every morning. Very charming space own by a lovely couple.
Very unique! The owner was one of the friendliest and welcoming person we have met in Portugal! The property had everything we needed and even more we got treated with home made cookies made by wife's owner! In addition a private parking. It was close to both the ocean and also all main attractions in Obidos and nearby!
It was a lovely quiet location, about a 15 minute walk to the town and castle. The room was simple clean and comfortable. It was a wonderful traditional inn style that totally fit with the magnificence of Obidos. We really enjoyed our stay and the bed was comfortable and we slept well there.
Everything was great, the lovely room with the garden, gorgeous plum tree and wonderful view, the location near the castle wall and the super kind host Joao, who gave us lots of information about Obidos, the history of his home, which is a small castle and lots more.
A charming old house located very close to the castle and inside the town walls. It has a lovely terrace where you can eat breakfast. Good value if you consider the inflated prices of most things in Óbidos. Comfy beds and friendly staff.
The views and the location
The town of Obidos is beautiful and the hotel is centrally located with nice views of the castle. It is an old house and I recognize the effort to preserve it with many original touches. Breakfast was normal.
Really nice space for 2 people, cleverly planned space indoors and outside, with nice views. Easy access and in a great location for seeing Óbidos and surroundings. Parking was safe and easy.
The location was excellent! Very close to the main Óbidos streets where all the shops and restaurants are located! Very friendly staff! Also the room was spacious.
An affordable one night stay in a lovely, clean room. It was great to have a bathroom in the room. Ample free parking. A 10 minute walk to the Obidos castle.
