Would have stayed longer.
Great place to relax even if you don’t play golf!

The hotel allowed an early check in which was appreciated because our plane flew through the night from Canada. Unfortunately I could not sleep on the plane and I was exhausted. Early check in enabled me to have a nap.

Convenience to airport and regular shuttle service
Portmarnock itself beautiful. Safe beach, great walk between Portmarnock and Malahide and great golf. Can recommend Lali’s local restaurant, Jameson’s bar at the Portmarnock hotel and Malahide for bars, restaurants and retail therapy

Lovely walks along the coast, neighbouring Malahide is about a 40 minute walk where there are many great bars and restaurants. Great golf courses in Portmarnock, restaurant & bar options are limited.

We stayed here to be close to the airport because we had an early AM departure. It was an easy 15 min drive to DUB via back roads. The hotel was fabulous, the ocean views were spectacular and the room was very clean.

Fantastic location on a beautiful wide beach with wonderful walking possibilities eg 45 minutes to Malahide on coastal promenade, also great walks from Howth on headland in opposite direction, choice of 6k, 7k and 11k walks. Howth itself is a pretty fishing village with lots of fresh fish for sale and restaurants around the harbour area. Malahide Castle also a short drive with its lovely grounds and Avoca restaurant. Also a great value hotel with lots of quality and service for the money. Reception staff really helpful and breakfast super. Golf course is beautiful, quite expensive but deals available on the hotel’s website. I think the hotel would be more expensive if it had a pool and maybe tennis courts. But the beach on your doorstep makes up if the weather is good. Highly recommend, 9.5 out of 10

The location of the hotel is a significant benefit; The advantage of being so convenient to Malahide in one direction and Howth in another direction provides for additional options. The quality of meals was excellent despite the restrictions posed by the ongoing pandemic (Covid 19).

Portmarnock Hotel and Golf is one of the nicest hotels we have stayed in.This was our third stay and we will go again as soon as we can. Wonderful facilities, staff and surroundings. Highly recommend it to anyone
The hotel will store your luggage until you can check in. The room and bathroom were a decent size. There was a large closet and a dresser as well as a desk and a chair in the room. The bed, pillows, and linen were comfortable. The hotel is on the coast and I was given a room with the ocean view. The room faces the street, but was still pretty quiet. I didn't have a car, but the hotel seems to have an adequate parking lot. There is a restaurant on site.
I am originally from the village, and I have stayed frequently at the hotel. The staff were excellent, friendly, responsive and very professional. The location is wonderful, not too far from the city centre, airport as well as Malahide and Howth. Upon arrival, once we were shown our room and we expressed our unhappiness the staff upgraded us to much nicer room.
Fabulous Hotel but very short staffed. Waited one hour for a drink in the bar. Very poor selection for vegetarians in the menu. Waiter would not ask the chef if he could make another veggie dish. Breakfast was poor enough too, only eggs for a vegetarian. Afternoon tea is a little bit overpriced for what you get. My friend received a red wine that was gone off.
Comfortable bed, plenty of storage space. Quiet hotel with clean corridors and rooms. Ate two meals, lunch an dinner: good choices very nicely cooked and presented. Breakfasts very good with very nice staff in all cases.
Close to the beach, great view, comfortable and clean room, it was a nice quiet stay for the night due to the cancellation of my flight and an impromptu stay. The gentlemen employees were quite kind and helpful.
The location across from the beach was fabulous and as I was attending a concert in Malahide it was a perfect location with the bus stop to Malahide just outside the hotel, so convenient.
Lovely hotel in fantastic location. Couple of minutes walk to the beach for an early morning walk. Room was great with views over golf course and sea. Hot breakfast was really good.😋
I love this hotel . Amazing location on the beach and close to lots of lovely restaurants in malahide. There is also a cool coffee bar next door . Staff are always very welcoming too
Besides being a clean comfortable hotel with an excellent staff, the location, on the Irish Sea with Long Beach walks, was the ideal place to recover from jet-lag.
