Absolutely darling studio. Clean, quality, and quiet, right in the center of town. Sublime patio overlooking all of the valley. We had a very nice happy hour there.

A super location for a stay near Motovun. Nena is an exceptional host who kindly took our bikes in and locked them away in the garage. She took us to the village in her car which is a 25 min walk up the road. She also made us coffee and pastry breakfast.

This apartment is in a beautiful location if you’d like to unwind after a long day of seeing Motovun. My partner and I biked to Motovun, then checked in around 7 pm, and left in the morning via the Parenzana (additional perk that the path is right by). The apartment is a bit far from Motovun by foot, took us approximately 15 minute by bike (and that was going downhill). We didn’t stay long in the morning and did not get to experience the complimentary breakfast that many other reviews referred to. The apartment did have an electric kettle (but no instant coffee) and a mini fridge. Everything was very clean and we loved sitting in the backyard, watching the stars.

Great place for lovers of medieval hill-top towns and truffles. One can enjoy just a stroll through the town and views of surroundings for an hour, can have a great dining experience or stay for days and explore Istria, one of the prettiest and welcoming places on earth. "Medieval" and "hill-top" also mean that you walk a lot on rugged cobblestone, you walk uphill and climb stairs, and "great place" means it's crowded in the high season (summer). Still, one of the better places to escape to from crowded coastal towns, focused primarily on visitors' wallets.

A classic medieval town that was so fun to explore.
A classic medieval town that was so fun to explore. Be sure to visit the cathedral (opened about 10 during our visit) and (carefully) climb the bell tower for a spectacular view of the valley and beyond. We visited in late October when some businesses had closed for the season and others were winding down. We would visit again in September.

Great location in old town.
Great location in old town. Wonderful people and amazing views from the walls and restaurants. Wine and truffle country and free samples were almost too much. Lol
Tiny and hilly old stone streets within a walled city oozing with history.
Our host was gracious, laid back and a pleasure to just chat with.
We would highly recommend.

It's a spectacular location on a hilltop with amazing views all-round of mountainous country including vineyards & olive groves. Delicious and reasonably-priced restaurants at the very top, friendly people, tons of charm. Nearby are several vineyards & the local wines are very nice, and affordable. Easy day trips to Pula, Rovinj, Buzet & others.

This was my first time in Istria.
This was my first time in Istria. We checked out Kozlovic winery, we sampled their delicious wine and had a tour. View is spectacular. Had dinner in Motovun, tried gnocchi with truffles, very tasty! Pictures of the amazing views do not do it justice. Will definitely visit again!

Motovun is lovely little town in the heart of Istria.
Motovun is lovely little town in the heart of Istria. I really liked it. The prices at restaurants in general in comparison to offer are a bit limited. However we managed to find something for ourselves at the end. We missed bakeries. We did not find single one so we travelled to Pazin on our way back home and found amazing bakery.
Perhaps tourism board should create a special list with all possible places providing food and menu of same, all in one place saves from walking especially if one has slight walking disabilities.
Everything else is lovely and look forward returning to Istria
We did not have breakfast, because we left early for Plitvice. The guesthouse was gorgeous, and our rooms each had a terrace with a spectacular view over the valley below. It was the perfect spot to share a bottle of wine and some truffle tapenade from a local winery. You do have to leave your car outside the walls, but the owner met us at the parking lot with her car to help with luggage. We enjoyed walking the walls of Motovun and exploring the hill town of Groznjan on the way there. We had a great dinner at Konobo Mondo.
Amazing stay! Extremely comfortable, spotlessly clean, cozy, spacious, well equipped apartment. Air condition is superb. Excellent option for a long comfortable stay! Our only regret was that we could stay only one night, but even in one short night we had such a great restful sleep. It is so quiet and peaceful. Hosts are amazing, both in communication and welcoming. Our most sincere recommendation! We hope to come back for a longer holiday to fully enjoy the place.
Simple but comfortable rooms, with excellent beds. The B&B is small but they really make a good use of the space so you never feel cramped. Very welcoming and polite staff. The location could hardly be any better, at the top of Motovun with amazing views of the valley. The B&B pays for your parking at the main parking lot outside the town, and also picks you up so that you avoid having to carry your luggage up those cobbles - both those facts are extremely welcome!
Beautiful apartment; spacious, clean, and comfortable, with a fully equipped kitchen and a stunning view from the bathroom. It has all you need for a long or short stay, and to feel right at home. The location is great, just a 5 minute walk from the center of town, within the old city. Jakov was an excellent host, friendly and responsive, and very helpful during my stay. I highly recommend, and would love to stay again!
The walking distance from the parking to the hotel is longer than we felt was advertised and is very steep and roughly cobbled. However, the shuttle service worked well. The room was very small but satisfied all our needs. There was limited fruit at breakfast but plenty of other food. Some of the staff were very welcoming and charming, others not as friendly. The location is great, right at the top of the hill town.
Lovely experience to stay in a 300 year old stone building, renovated into a cosy and comfortable holiday retreat. Everything one needs to self-cater was provided. A dedicated car park was 70m away. Location was perfect to explore Motovun and surrounding villages. Our host Goran was very generous (gave us complimentary wine, olive oil and home-made brandy) and helpful. Highly recommend this accommodation.
The villa is only a few minutes from Motovun by car. Offers amazing views of Motovun and the country side. The outside living area with pool, terrace, bbq and amazing views are the best part and well worth the price. The villa itself is huge. You can get lost in this place. Host was helpful and tented to our needs. Recommended to anyone looking for a base to stay in the Istria region.
Great apartment with a fantastic view. Special praise goes to the host who really made an effort with detailed advice about restaurants and sights in Motovun and the surrounding area. The apartment also has various useful books and tourist guides, as well as a gramophone and a collection of gramophone records that you can listen to.
We had a nice time in the apartment, the apartment is new and very comfortable. It had all the equipment we need, and it's close to explore all the little places in the surroundings. It is very spacious and clean.
Elvis was great and kind host and we would love to come back again.
The superb location, you are in the centre of Motovun with breathtaking views over the valley and beyond. The terrace is a great space, we enjoyed BBQs and then the hot tub! the house is really well equipped and furnished to a high standard whilst being really comfortable.
The place is beautifully decorated, very cozy, feels more like home than hotel. Because tourists are not allowed to park inside the town, owner drive me to back and forth to my parking place to pick up and drop off the luggage. Free breakfast is also offered.
We adored Hotel Kaštel. The staff were welcoming and very helpful. Motovun is a wonderful place to stay. The room had superb double aspect views from the second floor. It was comfortable, with good air conditioning and calming decor. Highly recommended.
The host was super friendly and helpful. The bedroom is huge. We were traveling by bicycle so there was plenty of space for our bikes and all our kit. As for Motovun, what a beautiful place with a stunning view.
