Take a side trip to visit Kourtaliotiko Gorge. There is a trail in the gorge, but we didn't have time for that. So we stopped along the road above and followed the path passed the Church of Saint Nicholas down to a beautiful view of the waterfall.ArthurUnited States - 8.0Scored 8.0

Plakias is a good place to have a rest moving from Imbras...
Plakias is a good place to have a rest moving from Imbras Gorge to Kourtaliotiko gorge, city is small and quite. Beaches in city itself not seems are extraordinary, they have many rocks, but on the left end is there a nudist beach

Plakias has a nice village feel with nice beach's and plenty of tavernas, supermarket's, bakers and butchers, all within easy walking distance. We found the food at Antoni's Place was excellent and staff very helpful.

Plakias is a smallish town and very laid back and relaxing.
Plakias is a smallish town and very laid back and relaxing. As we were half board we didn't try many of the bars/restaurants on offer. We were going to go on a boat trip but one of our daughters was ill so we had to abandon that idea. My other daughter and I did visit Kourtaliotiko Gorge and waterfall which was amazing and we made it to Souda beach on the last day which had lovely clear water. We had a car so we could travel around. I personally think that is an essential if you want to explore the area as it takes a while to drive anywhere as the roads are quite small and bendy!STEPHENUnited Kingdom - 10Scored 10
Place has amazing location, but do not expect night life,...
Place has amazing location, but do not expect night life, for that you have to go to Plakias, Damnoni (across the rock, great views) or drive to Rethymnon. Service and meals are great, staff very kind, willing and helpful, always aiming to help, direct, support. Swimming in private pools or in purely clean sea with private beach (no sand, rocky beach, but you can jump from very high cliffs). Hotel also invites oriental dancers, who were just excellent and greek dancers. Someone says - rooms are shubby, but everything is made from solid wood, comfy, only bathrooms a bit small, but sufficient. Place suits to all types of travellers- you want to rest, doing nothing, you can. You want to travel around, you can even go to Santorini by jetboat. We recomment the place definitely.

George explained us how to operate the different facilities and provided us with nice refreshments. Pantelis the contact person for the reservation was helpful, gentle and kind. Both are extremely helpful and friendly. We stayed in villa Toulipa. Increteblue is a complex of several accommodations some offering pools and some offering Jacuzzi's. The location is very good, close to the beach and all the stores but relatively quiet and peaceful.DNetherlands

We were in room 117 with a beautiful view of the garden and mounatins. What we loved about the hotel: the central location, the open and nice view, the very clean and modern room, fresh towels, delicious breakfast, and the warm welcome by Olga and her team! They provided us excellent advice and recommendations which enhanced our stay in Plakias and overall in Crete! Thank you for making our stay unique and memorable!

The pool is nice like on the pictures, but not very deep, so it s more for relaxing than swimming, but the sea is really wonderful at Plakias and the surrounding beaches. If you have breakfast you have to go to the hotel, about 10 minutes to walk or you go by car, if you don t want to walk. Breakfast was really tasty. I can recommend this accomodation; if you have a car it s perfect to come around everywhere.

The shower room is also spacious compared to the default ones. The kitchen unit has pretty much everything you need. We also liked the proximity to the various beaches and got good hints from the nice host where to dine etc. Parking a car is not a problem and it is for free and there are supermarkets close by.AdnanGermany
