Along the north Cornwall coast, around 30 minutes’drive from Newquay and St Ives, Portreath Arms has a cosy bar and restaurant serving fresh home-cooked food.

The pub has been carefully restored and it has been beautifully decorated in a contemporary style. The room was spacious and comfy. The breakfast was exceptional and the host very friendly.
Attached pub did not have food available after 2.30pm.

The room was lacking of air conditioning and I had to open a big and wide window for air during the night. I was frightened in case of crawling insects or a fox can easily climb in as the room I stayed downstairs on the side of back garden with load of weeds and a trees that looks like a forest.

Unfortunately i cant rate the town of Redruth very high.this is due to how steep the main shopping street is. If you have mobility issues dont shop in Redruth. But once you manage to get to the top of the street there are buses that can take you on lovely journeys to places like Truro, Penzance and surrounding areas all for a fiver day ticket. Plus there is a train station if you fancy a train ride. If you have a car and want to save on fuel then use one of the many long term carparks for around Four pound for the day and use the buses

Stayed in St Day, which was the perfect location to explore wider Cornwall. I travelled out every day in all directions and the Road network was easy to navigate to get me around. There were plenty of options for having a great evening meal within a 5 mile radius of St Day. I enjoyed my stay here so much that I am planning on a return visit. Had a great nights sleep every night because it was lovely and quiet.

this hotel was outside the town of Redruth, in the country so not affected by Redruth itself and lots of nice places to visit nearby , Redruth itself is a sad and neglected little town, very few thriving businesses, lots of empty shops and too many charity shops. There seemed to be nowhere where food is served all day (we needed to eat late afternoon as we had to be at a venue by 6.30pm),one street (West End!) looked as if it was ripe for demolition. Lots of potential with its tin mining history, two very good pieces of artwork and also some interesting and historic buildings that could be renovated in to something rather special but left in a dreadful state of repair. A bit of levelling up and real investment could make it a very pleasant little town

Perfect little Shepherds hut in a central location, ideal for exploring Cornwall!
Spotlessly clean, lovely little touches on arrival, wine, milk, even homemade flapjack.
Highly recommend a stay here, can’t fault it!
Just come back from a week at Hillhead Farm at Easter. Owners were very welcoming. Weather was not great but the cottage was lovely. Everything we needed for family of 5 and the spaniel. Really easy access to mining trails, and plenty of off lead dog walking. Visited friends in Redruth, Hayle Beach, Porthtowan Beach Blue Bar (watched the storm), Holywell beach for dune surfing, Truro, cinema.....
Perfect location even in a storm! We will be back.
Thank you.
Lovely private and cosy chalet. Perfect size for two.
Well equipped kitchen and towels provided. Close to some lovely walks and Redruth town.
Very private, own entrance and fenced off area meant we could have door/windows open no worries.
On arrival having tea/coffee and milk was lovely!
Complete black out curtains/blinds.
Internet and smart tv
Well lit bathroom, big LED light up mirror and big-ish shower with heated towel rack!
Clean rooms windows that open lots of little cute extras, as usual the amazing food amazing service warm environment.
We started our holiday in Cornwall here and it's a great place to lend when you get to Cornwall close to the train station and a great place to leave from after you've packed all your bags and tidied up at the Holiday House.
The staff were lovely, the breakfast was great and the location was perfect as we were visiting family in Redruth. My sister brought her dog and we were delighted by the “dog friendly” approach with lots of outside space and lovely helpful staff.
Beautiful house and garden, hearty breakfast.
Great location, within short driving distance from every point of interest in western Cornwall.
The town itself, St.Day, is quite pretty. It was nice to have dinner and a short walk in the evening.
Beautiful quiet location, central Cornwall with an easy drive to either coast through stunning countryside. The sunrise and sunset when viewed from the top field are awesome. Will be returning again.
The hotel is located just outside Redruth. The room was clean and big enough. The dinner in the restaurant was delicious and recommended. The staff are warm and make you have a good time.
Smart, traditional hotel with old school values.
Lovely spa.
Perfectly located for our trip.
Friendly, plentiful and helpful staff.
Peaceful and well decorated room. Comfortable bed.
We were made welcome from the start, the hotel was spotlessly clean and breakfast was superb, I would stay again and recommend it, central location to explore the county
