Large, well-equipped, clean room, with extremely comfortable bed. Very hot water. I was travelling with a dog, and greatly appreciated the provision made for the dog, including an appropriately-sized sleeping crate (which he was happy to use as he has one at home) and use of the garden at the back. Breakfast provisions in the kitchenette meant that I was able to enjoy a d-i-y breakfast in bed. The distance from Cairnryan makes it a good place to break before or after the ferry to NI. Friendly staff. Views of Alisa Craig from grounds.

Bedroom was very well appointed - spaceous with a large, comfortable bed and nice linen.
Gillan is a very personable and engaging host. Her breakfast (a surprise as the Booking.com details implied that there was no meal option) was tasty and much appreciated.

Has pretty much everything you need for a short break, great shower and central heating. Good Wi-Fi . Probably an affordable choice if you were a golfer
Girvan is a hidden gem. Gorgeous old buildings. Beautiful, clean beach and harbour. And genuinely friendly people. I had a great curry there too, at Jasmine’s. Art centre, community garden, great library, antique shops and brilliant accommodation at the Southfield Hotel. All easy walking. Surrounding hills and scenic views of Alisa Craig and Arran are stunning.

Great views across the sea to Ailsa Craig.
Great views across the sea to Ailsa Craig.
Apart from that it's a dump!
Noisy Fair across the road from our B&B. Rows of neglected terraced seafront houses and B&Bs. Gangs of noisy kids roaming. Numerous closed and derelict shops on the High Street.
Would never go back again.

The beach was fantastic and clean.
The beach was fantastic and clean. The town centre was closed when we were there but plenty of shops to look around. Fantastic views all around from every road. From mountains to the beach and lots of old historic looking buildings. Lovely harbour to walk on and a you can catch the ferry to Ireland. We enjoyed our overnight stay there. Lovely fish and chips from the fish shop near the harbour. Lots of parking. Everything mentioned was all within walking distance of each other.

A lovely quiet cottage up a lane that houses a few other cottages. The cottage is a short walk from the beach and the town. Beach was clean and had a pleasant promenade. The town has some empty shops at present. The local people were very friendly.

It’s a lovely place for dog walkers or couples or lone travellers to go, for family’s it’s ok but you need to travel into girvan for a decent play park, they have a small kids soft play which will entertain young kids from age of 3-6 years as it wasn’t up to much! There is amusements for the older kids, a lovely harbour and decent enough park, there is also boat trips you can go on aswell! It’s a nice enough place but I’d say it would be more suited to couples rather than families with a few young children! There is a very small asda also and few shops to explore within the town! You also have turnberry lighthouse that you can visit and culzean castle, it’s £30 to walk the grounds of culzean castle without going into that actual castle it’s self!

It's great for kids the beach is spotless.
It's great for kids the beach is spotless. Theres also a play area for kids out the back of the bar restaurant onsite. Food is good and there is a swimming pool which you have to book. Caravan I stayed in was spotless I will definitely be back. Great for family break. 👍👍👍
I really enjoyed staying here, I was here for work so unfortunately I didn’t really get much time to spend inside the property beside the basics (sleeping) everything you need is there inside the property exactly how you’d have in your own home. the area was really clean and I felt safe in Girvan, nice little town and had everything you need with a 5/10 minuet walk to Asda and less than 5 minutes to a local Esso filling station. There’s so much to see in Girvan but l just didn’t have the time unfortunately. great property though.
Our first night in Scotland we checked into the Southfield. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. The location was great to get to nearby takeaway and pub, or take a walk to the waterfront. We requested a cot and everything was set up when we arrived and the rooms were lovely and had private updated bathrooms. The breakfast in the morning was delicious and cooked fresh to order. I would definitely stay here again.
What a lovely, well-equipped home. Very comfortable and the super-king size bed was amazing . Cute courtyard garden for sitting in the sun or watching ovet the water. Or even trying a bit of fishing!
Great hosts, very welcoming with lots of little extras like tea, coffee and biscuits. Would heartily recommend to all for a wee break in Girvan. Hope to return sometime. We loved it ❤
Lovely clean modern property, tastefully decorated and it felt like new. Good sized bedrooms and Sue the host had thought of everything to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable.
Perfectly located to visit Girvan, It was only a short walk to the supermarket, town high street, pubs, harbour and seafront. We would definitely stay again if we head back to Girvan. Thank you Sue.
Great location. Some facilities limited due to covid regulations and the time of year but clearly stated in the accommodation description. Beautiful rooms with comfortable beds and great views. Did not have a lot of interaction with the hotel staff again due to the covid regulations but the owners were very friendly and accomodating.
We had 2 rooms with lovely king sized beds, private bathrooms and a sitting area with kitchenette. Great for families with plenty of space . The staff was very friendly. There was a beach area directly across from hotel to see sunset or enjoy a walk. Close to ferry for traveling back to Northern Ireland
Location is a bit funny close to major round about, but we didnt hear a thing and there is an easy walk behind the property into Girvan. The room and bathroom were very nicely finished and the owner was very nice. Some little touches were appreciated - fridge with Milk, microwave...
Well appointed and spacious, spotless, convenient parking, easy to find. The restaurant was closed due COVID but we were able ro order a full meal in our room from an extensive menu, delivered to our room. Delicious! Good choice of breakfast items supplied in our kitchenette too.
Many thanks to Tony, who looked after me so well during the stay. Accommodating my late arrival, ensuring that, I found found parking near the hotel and making the breakfast arrangement. It was a brief stop over, but I was made very welcome nonetheless.
What an amazing place to stay, I only wish it was for longer. An excellent breakfast, one of the best I've had while being away, served in the room and accompanied by a beautiful sea view.
Can't recommend highly enough and excellent value for money.
The hotel is on a road opposite a pretty little park and has a small car park. It is a little tired in places but our room was comfortable and every requirement had been thought about. The food was very good, both breakfast and dinner
Fantastic town house, everything we wanted and more. Had a great time. House was very clean, tidy and very well designed, I will be highly recommending to friends and family to visit. Great location in the heart of Girvan.
Dog friendly, with close access to the beach and lovely coastal walk. Approx 2 mile distance to Girvan and a 30 mins drive to spectacular Culzean Castle. Lovely surroundings with outdoor seating area and beautiful horses.
There is a beautiful city garden across the street. I had a lovely time strolling through in the early morning.
The hotel served a great meal the evening we were there.
Immaculate throughout ideal for our family. Everything we needed and a great base for us to explore Girvan, Dailly, Maidens and Maybole. Would definitely rebook.
