A busy tourist beachside town with plenty of choice for restaurants bars etc as well as the usual holidays shops. The main shopping area is pedestrianised so thats great but for me too crowded and busy, a sort of Spanish Benalmadena without the nonsense, clean, no drinks and no nonsense

Calella beach was very clean and stretches for a few miles before it joins the next resort and didn’t get overcrowded. Nice restaurants and bars and the town is much quieter than Lloret which was a pleasant surprise. Would recommend a visit and would definitely go back.
It is easy to walk around the narrow streets and along the promenade to the next resorts along the coast. We didn’t hire the free bikes as we preferred to walk but the offer of free bike hire is definitely a bonus offered by the hotel.

Calella is 1.5h from Barcelona city.
Calella is 1.5h from Barcelona city. If you're prepared to travel that far outside the city, then stay here. There are not a lot of activities to do in the area, this place is best for lounging about on the beach or by the pool.
This hotel was just brilliant from start to finish. The hotel itself is spotless and the decor is really nice. All of the staff were so so kind and very helpful. The entertainment during the day at the pool for kids and adults such as water arobix ect was great fun. The kids pool is great. I could write an essay honestly one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. If you have kids this is the place to go in barcalona. Not far from the beach or the shops and restaurants.
The best thing about this hotel was the location, close to the beach and bars and restaurants, one day the kids club organised for us to go to the beach for a foam party which was brilliant but apart from that there wasnt much of a kids club to entertain a 8 year old . Check in was fast and efficient and the reception staff were great and helpful when you asked for anything , the rooms were a reasonable size and modern and clean with everything you needed.
I chose the hotel Colibri in Calella because of good price and location, very close to the sea and was very satisfied, the hotel is after renovation, so all is new and clean. The breakfast is included, very delicious and coffee is the theist I’ve ever drink. The beach is near, Calella is perfect place for the rest, near hotel there are : good shops, the park, church, fast train to Barcelona
The food was excellent, congratulations to everyone from the kitchen, buffer breakfast and dinner. Juice, coffee, milk, yogurt are included with breakfast, while there is an extra charge for dinner. Every day there were standard and new dishes. For us outside of Spain, a wonderful experience to try Spanish cuisine. Hotel is very close to the beach and close to the city.
Superb Location, stayed for Ironman and was 5 minute walk to registration/finish line. was very basic but for the price we paid we expected that so wasn't shocked. very steep to get up to hut (especially after finishing ironman!) but well worth it when you get there, sea views for days, genuinely possibly the best view I've had!
Nice budget hotel very close to the beach. The room was small but clean & had a big balcony. The staff were helpful and friendly &
The buffet breakfast was very good. Best part was the price. I stayed here during the Ironman & only booked it a few weeks before & it was exceptional value.
The hotel is conveniently located. The breakfast is perfect (it was the best decision to include it into out stay): there was a wide range of dishes. It is really convenient to get to the beach. There is a blackout that helps you to sleep sound and the beds are really comfortable.
Location is perfect for anybody attending the Ironman event. Friendly staff and really good food. Breakfast buffet was spot on and they provided early breakfast on race day.
If I decide to do IRONMAN Barcelona again I will be staying at this hotel again!
Very friendly staff, the facility was very clean, and all in all it exceeded our expectations for a 2 star bead and breakfast! Very good value for the price and if we go to Calella again, we'll be looking to stay there again.
Charming family-owned budget-friendly clean nice small hotel near the Calella beach.
Perfect value for the money.
The owners (Pol and his wife) are nice and helpful.
The swimming pool is also a very nice touch.
