Everything. It was a bright, spacious and quiet retreat from city life, yet not far from Galway city. The house was furnished and equipped to a high standard and was spotless. We especially liked the conservatory dining area with views of Galway bay. Siobhan was great to deal with and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We were just a couple, but the house could easily accommodate a family or up to 3 couples traveling together. Highly recommend the Uplands.

Poreen House is very comfortable, well furnished and spotlessly clean. There is a lovely sea view. Good location for travelling around the west of Ireland. The owner lives close by available if there is a problem (which there wasn't during our stay) but definitely not intrusive. I highly recommend this property.

This house is incredible. It's beautiful and spacious with wonderful views across Galway bay. We booked for one night and immediately regretted not booking for longer. Two large double rooms with en suites, ideal for my friends who travelled as two couples and a room with a large bunk bed for my daughter and I. A wonderfully equipped kitchen meant we were able to cook a super meal with only supplies bought from the supermarket. I highly recommend this house as a base to explore west Galway and the Gaeltacht area. Seán was super helpful in getting us set up in the house (even though it was all by text) and left us to our own devices. A true gem of a house.

Wow - what a great place to stay for three nights just outside of Galway! The owner, Jacqueline, could not have been anymore accommodating. She was so nice and even provided us w/ an extra gift for my 50th birthday. We arrived to a beautiful Irish oasis with a wonderful view and a welcome basket. Our family enjoyed the short walk to the sea and the amazing seascapes. I can’t say enough about this cottage, it’s charm and the owner’s hospitality. If you are looking for a traditional Ireland experience then this is the place for you!

Located rurally on a 200 acre property. We stayed in a very well kept thatched roof cottage with all the amenities. It was peaceful, beautiful and quiet. It is off the beaten path, but that is what we liked about it. Very close to Connemara if you are traveling that way. We can’t say enough about the people who own it. They take a lot of pride in their place and you can see it in everything!

Easy parking and the apartment was well appointed, and comfortable access to the waterfront was a pleasant walk and lived the neighborly cows and sheep. Glad to have a washing machine.

Very clean and cosy. I had to check in early as was attending a funeral and Kevin was very flexible and accommodating. Exceeded expectations as the pictures are a little dark, it was very welcoming and spacious. Thank you very much.

Run by a lovely couple. Welcoming and accomodating. Room was a good size, clean, cosy and comfortable. An easy walkable distance into the centre of Spiddal town. Stayed here after getting off the ferry at Rossaveel, from the Aran Islands. Really enjoyed chatting with Geraldine, sharing stories and practising As Gaeilge with her. Great location to have access to Galway city but also day trips around Connemara and the Aran Islands. Would definitely recommend staying here.

What a lovely, pleasant and comfortable place to stay. Geraldine is the perfect hostess, so welcoming and made us a lovely cuppa of tea on arrival. The rooms are warm, clean and cosy and the breakfast top class. Thanks again for the wonderful hospitality.

The host was lovely, she was very welcoming and couldn’t do enough for us……. but also gave us our privacy. The cottage was well equipped, clean and cosy within a short walk of the town and from there a short hop to the pier and the small beach- one of three. A great base for exploring the area and still close to Galway. Excellent WiFi, which pleased the young people in our party, in particular!
