Very close to the train station. The cottage is a piece of history. The gardens are so lovely. Make me go back in time. Definitely a place worth to spend the nights. Very good communication with the host, friendly and happy to help. I recommend, you will not regret it.

Just a few minutes walk up to the railway station which goes every hour into Edinburgh, way cheaper than driving in and parking. Great communication from the hosts, and would thoroughly recommend Highfield Cottage for anyone wishing to have a break in or around Edinburgh.ChrisYoung couple

Communications were excellent, and Jill, the property owner, is so kind and welcoming in her approach. The cottage was spotless, had everything we needed for a two-night stay, and had heated bed pads with controls on each side so we could each pick the temperature we wanted (or didn't). There was also a woodstove with supplies provided, which was delightful.

Will definitely be back as also pet friendly will bring our cat next time. Perfectly located in a very quiet area, brilliant for a wee trip to my relatives in Broxburn, and to visit my Dad in his care home in Edinburgh. Rooms very spacious more than we needed, brilliant comfy cosy bed. Loved the wood-burning stove in the lounge. Nice modern Kitchen with all the amenities. Great stay.

Ideally located and with great commuter links to wider Scotland. I was sat at one of the windows of the cottage admiring the views and watching the wonderful array of birds that are busy at this time of year. Peaceful and relaxing, l highly recommend. I hope to visit again soon.
