Warm and cosy on arrival. Felt like we'd arrived at someone's home. Well equipped and furnished. Had everything we needed as a party of four. Maybe more crockery recommended if a larger group. Loved the location right next to the castle watermill gardens & cafe. We were there to hike for a few days & so many great walks from the doorstep.

The hostess made us feel very welcome. All very clean and full of "cottagey" artifacts and paintings. As it had very old origins there was plenty of character. Warm, cosy and comfortable with woodburning stove burning in the visitors lounge. Nice too to have a visitors lounge. Breakfast was excellent.

It had a four poster bed, wooden vaulted ceilings, stone fireplace, a sofa and two chairs. The inn itself is higgeldy piggeldly and has many sequestered nooks and crannies to relax in. The breakfasts are wonderful - the eggs benedict and full English were excellent.
