Oude Compagnies Post is outstanding and the cherry on the cake. Definitely the highlight of our visit to Tulbagh, excellent wine and a knowledgeable, educated and well informed host. Not to be missed. Daphne is also highly recommended as our restaurant of choice. A beautiful hiking route with a swimming pool, which is shallow enough for non swimmers is also available on Oude Compagnies Post.

We arrived on Good Friday of the Easter weekend and settled into our accommodation at Eikelaan Farm Cottages. Saturday was spent getting to know the history of Tulbagh at the Earthquake museum, old church & cemetery, and wandering down Church street admiring the restored old buildings. Rijk’s Wine estate just outside of town for lunch, and Daphne’s for dinner. Sunday we enjoyed lunch at The Tulbagh Boutique Hotel at their Olive Bistro restaurant. Great food & wine.

We loved the wine farms and visited several. The Valentine's Day dinner at Manley wine estate was excellent and the Tulbagh Hotel dinner was very good. The museums in the historic street are really interesting It is an easy area to get around, albeit always by car. We would avoid staying in such rustic accommodation and choose a wine farm instead

Could have stayed for a week instead of a weekend. Fabulous staff at the Cape Dutch Quarter Hotel, such an eclectic mix of Georgian & old Cape Dutch buildings .....all connected by peaceful gardens & even a lovely pool. Our room was self catering but with so many great eateries/vineyards we didn't bother cooking ourselves!!!! Highly recommend

We expected to browse around small shops, but there were none. The most exciting shop was a Second hand store. Beautiful buildings, but that's about it. We went on a Wednesday and Thursday. Maybe weekends are better? Went to Saronsberg Winery, which was lovely. Perhaps to venture outside Tulbach is the way to go.

A small farm stay in beautiful surroundings with good eco credentials. Due to the lakes surrounding the property the bird life is exceptional. The staff were helpful and friendly making our stay very relaxing and we really enjoyed the log fired plunge pool. There is a good cafe with a limited menu but food well cooked and beautifully presented. The rooms are modern and yet cosy. A great place to arrive from Cape Town 90 minutes away and chill. Tulbagh is also worth a visit.

Everything about Tulbagh Mountain Manor appeals to your senses and mostly relaxation. Our host was absolutely amazing from the moment we arrived with her friendly and welcoming demeanor. Our tree house "apartment" welcomed us with cleanliness and comfort. We appreciated the fact that there was no tv in the room which focused our minds more on our natural surroundings and beauty. We will definitely be going back.

What an amazing getaway from the city. The hosts were gracious and welcoming to a fault. The cottage has been restored with love and care. As a self catering venue you are left wanting for nothing! The views, amenities, warmth and comfort are above and beyond! The owners dogs are an absolute bonus, will walk the entire farm with you, even playing in the dam 😍 100% recommend

The experience was out of this world. I enjoyed every moment that I spend there. I would really recommend to anyone who wants to enjoy themselves out of the city and into the farm style. I enjoyed the quietness and the fresh air, it was an amazing feeling and experience. Very soon I am going to take my daughter there, so just she experience that life.

I loved the atmosphere of the place. It is a lovely wine farm steeped in history. When we arrived, we were treated to a wine tasting in the wine cellar right next to our room. Dirk is passionate and enthusiastic about his delicious wines and we couldn't go away without buying a box of his White Pinotage! We would love to visit again!

The cottages are roomy, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the farm life feel is great for the kids and dogs. The fireplace kept us warm on a wet Saturday night. Beds are big and comfortable. It's far enough from town to feel like you are on the farm, and close enough to still enjoy the wine farms and the beauty of Tulbagh :)

The hotel is centrally located in Tulbagh. The breakfast was very good. Free parking is available. The staff were excellent. The wifi worked well. We ended up in the honeymoon suite (because the room I booked wasn't available) which was huge and had everything we needed.
