The Jung Hotel and Residences, hotel in New Orleans

Located right off of Canal Street and adjacent to Tulane School of Medicine, The Jung Hotel and Residences offers modern rooms within less than 1 km from Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

Hotel with a very good location to reach the French Quarter on foot or via the classic red tram, located practically in front. The room and the whole structure are beautiful. Maybe it's a little overpriced. However I would definitely go back

Sonesta ES Suites New Orleans Convention Center, hotel in New Orleans

Situated in the Arts- Warehouse District district of New Orleans, Sonesta ES Suites New Orleans Convention Center provides a tennis court, a fitness centre and barbecue facilities.

The breakfast was a great selection. the staff were so so lovely and helpful. The room was great and spacious and had everything we needed. I used the gym and the pool which both offered towels I liked that there didn't have cleaners every day and only once a week because it felt more like our hoke for the week without someone coming in every day. if you needed anything, you just asked at reception, and they gave it to you.

FAQs about hotels in New Orleans

Getting its Rhythm Back

The home of jazz, intriguing New Orleans evokes images of Louis Armstrong, wrought-iron balconies and mouth-watering Cajun cuisine. Louisiana’s largest city, in the heart of the Deep South, the ‘Big Easy’ is being regenerated in the wake of devastating hurricane Katrina.

One area relatively unscathed was Bourbon Street – where jazz saxophones ring out of traditional bars interspersed by others offering more colourful nightlife. There are several New Orleans hotels near Bourbon Street, spread around the French Quarter with its distinctive Creole architecture.

To the south is Jackson Square, dominated by the Disney-esque St Louis Cathedral. Horses and carts wait patiently by the square, and locals set up their stools and start playing catchy tunes. Just behind is the legendary Mississippi River whose waters are still plied by paddle steamers.

From the river you get great views of the CBD skyscrapers and beside them is the huge Louisiana Superdome sports venue. Booking.com has several hotels near the Superdome, including some on Canal Street – a historic road where streetcars and the famous New Orleans Mardi Gras carnival pass down.

In the northern suburbs is New Orleans City Park, one of the oldest US parks and larger than NYC’s Central Park. Waterways lining it flow into large Lake Pontchartrain bordered by a bayou – the typical wetlands of the state.

    Pleasantly surprised.

Pleasantly surprised. The city was full of history and things to do. Music filled the streets of the French quarter and there are a lot of things to do. I would definitely recommend the World War II museum, Sea Aquarium, Oak Valley Plantation tour and night ghost tours. I would definitely go again.

New Orleans is a magical city - and should be on everyone's list to visit at least once! Great food, music, art, vibe, great parks, and wonderful people! Amazing restaurants to try: Jewel of the South for dinner, Paladar 511 for brunch, Revolution for one dish only - their Death by Gumbo (sublime!). Super easy to get around - walking, Uber, driving.

New Orleans is a unique American city with a unique culture.

New Orleans is a unique American city with a unique culture. The creole/Cajun food is legendary and it is almost impossible to get a bad meal. The nightlife on Bourbon Street is not for the "faint of heart" but even a quick walk thru early in the day is a fun experience that you will not find in any other American city. And, don't forget the beignets at Cafe du Mondo - don't think about the empty calories, dig in, and enjoy!

    Absolutely loved it.

Absolutely loved it. We stayed on the French quarter and thoroughly enjoyed the shops, cafes, and architecture of the area. You can get to so much just by walking which we did a lot of. There is a Walmart just a few miles away if you need other supplies. The only down fall was there is a large amount of homeless in the area. They are not a bother to people, just could be a culture shock since they sleep on the sidewalks. We would eat breakfast at Envie Coffee and Cafe nearly every day. They had a great variety of pastries, coffee, and wonderful omelets and bagel sandwiches. There is parking along the streets and lots of one-way roads so watch out. We up paid for our gated parking lot at our hotel vs parking along the streets. Well worth it to ensure our vehicle was kept safe. We stayed at Le Richelieu, and it was fantastic and pretty centrally located to all the shops including the French market. Another downfall is that Bourbon Street can get pretty crazy after 8 pm and even the locals will tell you to avoid walking around the area after dark. Stay in well-lit areas and to main streets if you do travel after dark.

We spent most of our time at a conference or with our local friends. This was not our 1st time to New Orleans. One can easily get to the French Quarter by the E1 bus and the Canal Street trolly There are many great neighborhoods to explore and to see great architecture, museums, and old cemeteries People are very friendly and there is a great variety of food

    Bring your shoes.

Bring your shoes. Not the place to be cute and it’s a very walkable city. Uber is pricey depending on where you stay and Bourbon Street is full of rotten fish smells and debauchery. I will visit again but stay on the quaint part of the French Quarter. It’s a very dirty city so don’t bring your best duds and be show offey cause it ain’t that type of party.

My husband and I thought it was the perfect spot because it is walking distance from the French Quarter and Jackson Square, but was far enough away that we could escape back to the hotel if we needed a break from all the things that were going on. It is also about a 15 minute walk to The National WWII Museum, which is one of the main reasons why we stayed at this Best Western. The staff was always very friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed our stay very much and plan on staying there again when we return to New Orleans!

This is a well located and very beautiful property. Having a small fridge in the room and access to a microwave oven really helped my somewhat long stay in New Orleans. I only needed to walk one block and I had access to a streetcar that would take me downtown and the French Quarter. The staff there was friendly and very helpful in getting me checked in and out during strange hours. One employee waited over an hour past their shift to get me comfortably into my room upon my late arrival.

Prime location. Next door to a wendys & Popeyes chicken. So, if you're on a budget you can eat a decent meal for less. Also, next door attached to the hotel is a fancy restaurant. Traditional New Orleans style. Its pricey but worth it. Staff are great. ALL OF THEM!! The rooms are clean. The beds were so comfortable! Pillows super soft! I will be back for sure! Oh & the rail car is right outside the door of hotel. 10 mins to the french quarter.

Beautiful hotel - the decor and furnishings are very tasteful! We really liked the location of this hotel, it's only a short walk to the French Quarter and that means you don't have to deal with outside crowd noise for the price of a 5 minute stroll. It's also the right side of the FQ to get to the Garden District. The quality of the breakfast was very good indeed. The staff were helpful and friendly when we spoke to them in-person.

Historic old mansion with New Orleans style and character. Quiet residential area and walking distance to French quarter. A lot of space, comfortable beds, kitchen area. No lift and steep stairs (going up and down on the second floor with the luggage – it was something!) but we felt it was the modest pay for feeling like in the 18th century ;-) The building was absolutely beautiful and clean. We really enjoy the experience!

Beautiful hotel on Bourbon Street. Staff was amazing, very friendly and professional. The hotel itself is lovely, cool architecture, nice patio, and shockingly calm and quiet considering the Bourbon Street noise and chaos outside. Right in the middle of the French Quarter, so it's very easy to get around and there's a ton to see and do in the area.

Wonderful property in a lovely part of New Orleans. Very close to Magazine Street which has plenty of bars and restaurants, as well as wonderful independent shops. Only a short walk to the streetcar stop to take you to the French Quarter. Rooms were fantastic, individually decorated and very large. Ours had a balcony which was lovely

Excellent location. Some parts of New Orleans are very noisy in the evening but the Dauphine hotel is a bit further out making sure the peace and quiet was maintained during the night. Staff very helpful. Bedroom had plenty of space for storing suitcases if on a long holiday. Ideal location for walking around the French Quarter

Well maintained, clean and comfortable house in a great location, close enough to the city's main attractions in the French Quarter (all within walking distance) yet very peaceful and quiet with some nice neighbourhood cafés in the area. Check in process with the host was swift and easy. Highly recommended in New Orleans

Although the review considers me from Germany, I am from here. I can't imagine a better place to get the New Orleans and French Quarter experience than HERE! You are on the edge of the French Quarter and the Garden District. Walking to Jackson Square... No problem. Wanting some Cocktails... No problem. Great Place.

The hotel is an older facility but is located in the heart of the French Quarter. We had an interior room which cut down on the street noise, which can be considerable at night in New Orleans. The room was comfy and had everything we needed. The one breakfast we ate in the hotel restaurant was OK but not fantastic.

The location of the hotel is convenient for travel into the French Quarter, as well as into the Central Business District or Garden Districts. The location is one of the only good things about this hotel, which is not a unique enough perk to compensate for all of the negative attributes ad experiences.
