Missionshuset Bed & Breakfast, hotel in Sandhamn

Located on the island of Sandön in the Stockholm archipelago, Missionshuset Bed & Breakfast is set in Sandhamn. The property can be reached by local ferry transportation.

Rooms are small but charming. Friendly chatty helpful staff. Lovely breakfast. Good spread, even though there weren't many guests. Was able to get key earlier than expected and leave later than expected. Access to a fridge and microwave in the breakfast room was good (even if we discovered it a bit late).

Sahdhamn is a beautiful island at the edge of the archipelago, so please note it can get a bit windy since there are very few islands protecting it from the sea. There are trails criss-crossing the island, so it’s easy to hike around and since it’s not very big there is no risk for getting lost. During the winter most restaurants and shops are closed, but Sandhamn Seglarhotell is open and they have delicious food. The island is transformed during the summer months with lots of people, party and a much wider range of restaurants to choose from. So, depending on what you are after, choose the season to visit Sandhamn carefully. ;-)

    Wonderful island.

Wonderful island. We were here off season and had the woods and beaches to ourselves. It is a pity that a lot of beaches are privat, a Swedish man shouted very aggressively at us when we walked along one beach, 'his beach'.
