The location is amazing. The view is never ending and both sunrise and sunset were magical.
The bed/mattress was really comfy. Breakfast on the veranda, lots of choice, we spoke a little Portuguese and made the staff laugh with our efforts but they appreciated this and in return spoke really great English, they made us feel welcome and gave us advice on where to go and showed us shortcuts around the grounds.
The swimming pool blew my mind. The view from here is also etched into my memory.
20 mins drive from Do Pincho waterfall.
The cable car into town and back.
The church. Wow. The view. Wow again.

Gorgeous city by the sea. Beautiful blend of the old and the new, from a bridge designed by Gustave Eiffel to a modern shopping plaza in the centre of town near the main train station. A definite Parisian feel with lots of colorful sidewalk cafes and shops along clean, tree lined streets. I highly recommend making this a stop on your tour of Northern Portugal.

Viano do Castelo has a nice maritime feel to it with nearby beaches, historic old city center, many good restaurants, and sits below the amazing Santa Luzia Cathedral. One must visit the Cathedral and if daring go up to the top of the Cathedral (mix of elevator and then steps) for the best 360 degree views of the region, ocean and land.

I loved everything about Viana do Castelo.
I loved everything about Viana do Castelo. It was New Year's Eve and the atmosphere was incredible. Definitely one of the best nights of my life! The people, the decorations, the lights and although a lot of fun was being had, it just felt so safe and welcoming!
The next morning the streets were spotless, everyone wishing you a Happy New Year and it was all in all just perfect. I'll definitely be coming back. In fact I'd love to live there!

Lovely town to stroll around with lots of interesting buildings/architecture, nice boutiques and specialist shops and a good mix of places to eat. If we had stayed longer it would have been worth having a car but for 4 nights it was fine without. (Hotel has a car park)

Viana do Castelo is a great place to just relax if you want to get away from the tourist scene in the big cities. It's easy to go on day trips and outdoor activities from there. The food was amazing, the people polite and friendly. We hope to go back.

Horacio is an excellent host, looking after his guest's needs with careful attention from arrival to departure. He arranged for a delicious meal to be delivered from a nearby restaurant and had local wine on hand to complement the food. Not only did he answer all our questions about life in Portugal and gave us recommendations about the best local paths for our Camino Portuguese, but he even drove my companion to the next evening's destination, saving us from an expensive taxi ride.
What a wonderful place to arrive at after a long, rainy day on the Camino. It was so clean, comfortable and quiet, it was the best sleep I've had since arriving in Portugal. The lady that welcomed me on arrival was lovely and spoilt me for breakfast in the morning. Cafe Catete was just down the road and the very kind South African lady served simple, tasty, cheap food. It was a miserable January day and I was alone there but it was perfect. Thanks!
Very friendly and welcoming front desk. We were hiking El Camino de Santiago and tired, and this hotel was on the other side of town. GPS was taking us further down the beach than the actual location, so we were very happy we found it. Room was very nice with a view. The beach at this stage is mostly rocks, and during our stay in May it was fairly cool out, but great views. Overall, a very nice stay for our journey.
Flat was exactly as pictured - very clean, comfortable, and spacious. Great location and great value. Hosts Jessica and Raquel were great and very helpful. We were met on arrival to receive the keys. Flat was walking distance to Cabedelo Beach and the ferry into the old town. Great location to explore both the beautiful town of Viana do Castelo and Cabedelo Beach.
Very impressive house with a large and tastefully decorated room in an unbeatable location right on the main square. Rami was lovely and told us about the two best restaurants in town. The kitchen was very well equipped and the included breakfast was filling and tasty, with a large living/dining room overlooking the town square. The best place we stayed at in Portugal!
The balcony itself was already worth the price! Great to have your breakfast there, overlooking the roofs of Viana's Old Town. It was extremely quiet despite its location right in the centre of Viana do Castelo. We had one question as to how to operate the electric hubs - and the host responded immediately to provided the answer. It could not have gone any better.
We absolutely loved the location and spend many evenings on the lovely, secluded terrace. The surroundings were very quiet. The property is spacious and has everything you need for a great stay. The owner and his daughter were ever so helpful and very friendly. Viana do Castelo is enchanting with lovely beaches, great food, charming vibe: we definitely go again!
A perfect location next to the train station with a magnificent view of the basilica from our room. Hotel is almost like a museum with artifacts scattered throughout the building. Swimming pool. Lounge areas and a great burger and craft beer restaurant attached.
Breakfast was very good.
Staff was very helpful especially the day manager.
Excellent welcome by owner's family members, parking inside the hotel, very central location in old town, hotel recently renovated with a simple modern feel, very good restaurant recommendations by staff. Good breakfast.
Viana do Castelo is a gem of a town, and staying at this hotel was a very affordable bonus.
This is my second stay at Hotel do Parque and I think it is a great place to stay when in Viana do Castelo. The facilities are clean, the breakfast buffet and breakfast room with river view are great, and the staff is very helpful and kind.
Everything, unfortunately we spent there only one night. We really enjoyed the little kitchen corner with everything you need to make a good breakfast or dinner. The position cannot be more central in the tiny but gorgeous Viana do Castelo.
The hotel and grounds are spectacular! The rooms could be upgraded a bit
Unbeatable view and very nice seating
Located a few minutes from the city but close, (nice walk) to the beautiful Santuário. Viana do Castelo is a MUST
Beautiful hotel located close to all amenities and only a short walk from the train station. The breakfast was great and varied, our room was clean, comfortable and well equipped. Great value for money.
Wonderful welcome basket of goodies, and very attentive hosts. Lots of local restaurants a short drive away and very good position for sightseeing northern Portugal.
Very nice receptionist, told us quite a bit about the hotel and the town. The hotel is in a historic building and you can really feel it. Its wonderful
