We loved the location right next to the Castle, and close to the centre of the Old Town.
Our room was great - fresh coffee, comfortable beds, and a fabulous view from our balcony towards the monastery we had come to see.
The breakfast was exceptional - so much choice, we felt we had eaten 3 breakfasts by the time we left the dining room!
Although we didn't use the outdoor pool or spa facilities, we did check them out, and will definitely use them on our return (hopefully longer next time!)
Nuno on reception was extremely helpful, sorting buses/taxis/train times for us, and suggesting things to see, which we really appreciated given the limited time we had in Lamego.

Exceptional breakfast, wine cellar and spa facilities. Would have been great to have more communal quiet spaces, perhaps a library or smoking room to play board games etc.

Geographically Lamego is in a hollow.
Geographically Lamego is in a hollow. As I approached from the south in full sun in December you could see Lamego covered in mist, cold damp mist. It lasted for my 3 day stay and the sun was only visible as I left and approached the Duro River!
The accommodation was dia and the highlight was the cheerful taxi driver to took me out!!
Limited walking as two routes were terminated by loose snarling dogs!

Very pretty city, could have spent more time just hanging out and getting to know the city and way of life. If you are there just to walk to the top of the steps to see the cathedral, then one day is sufficient.

We stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed the amazing view, the park like garden, the heated indoor swimming pool. The breakfast was great so was our room which was very spacious. The bed was very comfortable and the view from our private terrace was amazing.
There was no restaurant on site so that meant having to drive into Lamego for dinner. We had a car so that didn’t bother us.
We would definitely stay again.

Do not miss the Sanctuario Nossa Senhora dos Remedios.
Do not miss the Sanctuario Nossa Senhora dos Remedios. Beautiful church built on top of a hill overlooking Lamego. Multiple terraces adorned with traditional Portuguese blue and white tiles lead up and down the property. One of the most beautiful places I have been to. I am surprised that the church is not talked about more often as a major attraction in the Duoro Valley.

We really enjoyed walking and visiting the towers, castles and churches it was like a travel back in time. Also because of the proximity we could take a boat tour in the Douro river. We drove from Lamego to Peso da Régua then by train to Pinhão to finish with a 2hrs boat tour.
Another unique experience was to drive on the N222. According to Avis who has crowned Portugal's N-222 as 'the road that offers the best driving experience in the world. From Peso da Régua to Pinhão.
With plenty of cafés, restaurants and bars food and drinks are there for you to choose. Is worth to know that after 22:00 most restaurants are closed but there are some like "O Cortelheiro" na rua das Cortes is open until 2:00am and you can have much more than a sandwiche.
Quinta da Salada exceeded our expectations and was a picture perfect place to stay while in the Duoro Valley. The staff at Quinta da Salada was kind and helpful and went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. They kept the grounds impeccable and the hotel room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast each morning was lovely and the pool was a great amenity. The views from the Quinta are incredible and it was easy to get into the nearby town. Truly couldn't have picked a better place to visit and stay. Thank you Quinta da Salada!
Sofia welcomed us as we drove onto the property. All the staff was very welcoming and helpful. The house we stayed in was perfect for our family of 4. The kitchen with open hearth was very unique and added fun to our night. The balcony had a beautiful view. The property has a wine museum and tastings available. Lamego was a short drive away with dining. Breakfast was nicely laid out and was very substantial with lots of options and local fair. I wish we could have stayed longer.
Hidden gem! Excellent location, greeted by a lovely and warm host who worked hard to make our stay so enjoyable. None of our questions or requests seemed like too much and we were treated like personal guests. Our top floor location was spectacular and we had a panoramic view of entire city. We were treated to an extensive homemade breakfast. You would be lucky to reserve a room in this charming hotel.
Laura was very kind and explained the history of the house. It is nice to be in a historic house where wine used to be made! The historic kitchen is very nice. The hamlet very nice. And just a few steps from one of the oldest chapels of Portugal! The shower worked well. I slept fine.
It is best to take the asphalt road from the north (from Lamego), which is fine. Very scenic as well.
The apartment was clean and very spacious. The location was perfect as it was close to the center with shops and restaurants. The only difficulty was locating a place to park. Cristina was responsive to messages and gave us welcoming gifts of sweet bread and bottles of wine and water. It was a great way to start our stay in Lamego.
It's a small cozy hotel right next to the Lamego Castle. Room was nice and clean. The hotel has a small outdoor swimming pool (in April water's rather cold) and nice cozy bar. Staff is very nice. Good breakfast. Good wifi. The restaurant is definitely worth mentioning. We had a very nice dinner and one of the best desserts ever.
Great location in Lamego, close to everything. The owner's sister greeted us and was so lovely. She even insisted in making us breakfast early before breakfast started when we had to catch an early bus, which we felt very bad about! Room was lovely and very comfortable. It was a shame we were only there one night
Luxury small boutique hotel with a personal service. Gorgeous setting, very hard to find a pool with a better view. Wonderful family business who go out of their way to make your stay special.
Well located to visit lots of Quintas and restaurants.
Just over an hours drive from Porto.
Views from the hotel are amazing - right across the Douro valley. The rooms are very comfortable (though a little dark). Beds are very comfortable - we slept really well.
Breakfast was excellent - lots of choice, very good quality and dishes constantly replenished.
The location is perfect. It is close to all important places in Lamego. Contact with an owner and his brother - very good. An appartment is spacious - you have a lot of space in living room and enough comfortable sleeping rooms. We could feel like in our own home.
Spectacular rooms(superior) and views...wonderful living room kitchen in shared new quarters. All brand new, beautiful architecture and design overlooking vineyards. Only 20 min to Duoro River in Lamego. We loved it. Nice pool. Would definitely return.
This small family owned hotel is a little paradise. Located in the middle of the wine yards, we found a very beautiful view over the Valley. Our Host Rui did everything to make our stay an outstanding experience.
Beautiful hotel right in the middle of a gorgeous wine farm. With amazing breakfasts, different restaurant choices for dinner, and a spectacular pool/spa setting, this place is a must visit spot.
The food was so amazing but the ambiance of the whole hotel from entry through the room with the spa rob to the balcony with the stunning views. It was all around just an amazing experience
The hotel location and view is amazing! The staff were the nicest and very helpful with everything we needed, the room was spacious and clean, had a great stay!
