Absolutely beautiful location and hotel. It was breathtaking and had a wonderful atmosphere. The staff were friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome. The food at the restaurant was delicious with lots of local culinary choices. Walking the grounds especially in the early morning and evening transported you to another time. Fabulous stay!

This gorgeous old family mansion is the perfect spot to stay to enjoy the best northern Portugal has to offer. You can explore many small villages and monasteries and hike in the wonderful Peneda Geres National Park. At the end of the day, enjoy a swim in the luxurious pool with a vista of farms and vineyards.
The owners of the casa justifiably take pride in the 20 generations of their family that have been stewards of this beautiful home and it’s lands.
Breakfast is excellent. The wonderful Elizabeth tends to all guest needs.
The village of Ponte da Barca has several nice restaurants and lovely walks along the river.
