We had the room with the view of Mt Taranaki. Well worth the extra money. The room was a great size with a nice sized balcony which had a spa tub on it. The room was quiet. Loved the sheep next door as well. Staff were so friendly. Underfloor heating in bathroom was great.

I had a perfect stay at Regan House. It was a chilly evening, but the room had adequate heating and the bed was very cosy with an electric blanket. Loved snuggling up with a hot drink from the well-stocked kitchen cupboard! The room itself was very clean and had everything I needed. The house was nice and quiet and I enjoyed getting to know Judith and Wayne the next morning while I was treated to an amazing breakfast cooked just for me (get the french toast)! I would stay there again in a heartbeat.

We thoroughly enjoyed the tranquillity and the secluded setup of the accommodation. We needed something close to our family, yet we also wanted to treat ourselves and treat ourselves we certainly did. The massages, spa treatments, and swimming pool were all utterly amazing. Plus, the owners were completely dedicated to ensuring our satisfaction

We were met and recognised as returning customers with a warm welcome. The whole place from the rooms to the bathroom and kitchen are always kept scrupulously clean. There have been some upgrades in the bathroom featuring a line of new basins. I can't recommend the place higher. Very impressed and having the right people overseeing it is the cherry on the top. Very friendly and accommodating and nothing is too much trouble.
Located in Stratford, TePopo Gardens & Accommodation is a retreat just 15 minutes' drive from Stratford's supermarkets and eateries.

Jarene's property is immaculate, comfortable and peaceful . We had a clear view of Mt. Taranaki. The property is in short driving distance to Mt. Taranaki Visitor centre and also to start of York Road entrance to the national park and other amenities. There were really nice touches in our whole stay. Jarene and Shaun are great hosts , very friendly and made our stay very comfortable.
This was perfect for us. Perfectly clean and recently renovated. Everything was lovely, comfortable bed etc and a good price. Only 30mins drive from New Plymouth.
Easy contactless arrival and departure.
My only thing which I don't like as a general thing are "Walk in showers" . But that's no reflection on the stay.
Would highly recommend.

It's a smallish old school rural NZ town so if you want malls , loud entertainment & homeless on every corner you'll be out of luck.
Largest businesses seem to be the rural supplies shops.
A variety of smaller shops , eateries , hairdressers etc.
Friendly locals & a variety of nationalities at the motor camp.
Impressive scenery in the surrounding area & Mt Taranaki as a backdrop.
PS Take a raincoat.
PPS Check out the Clock Towers animated display. We kept missing it :-(

Close proximity to the town and amenities is a bonus, especially if there is an emergency such as no water supply at the motel. You can quickly go to the town for your needs.
Motel needs to clearly specify on its website that extra blankets and towels are hired separately at least for the cabins. Doors with gaps underneath need to be fixed to prevent cold draft from getting into the room.
Toilets and bathrooms need an upgrade. As they are located outside in a separate building, overhead shelters for the walkway need to be built to keep people dry as they walk to & from the bathrooms and toilets.

Awesome little town with beautiful parks and gardens. Fabulous base to explore Egmont National Park as it is only 30 minutes from the North or the East entrance. Check out Azure Cafe for astonishingly delicious baked treats, especially the Gluten Free options!

Stayed here to rest before doing the pouakai circuit. If you don't mind the approximately 40min drive to get to North Egmont visitor centre, quite a good location.
Would also recommend it after completing a hike for the access to a pool and spa if you're wanting to relax your muscles in water after a long hike.

Whangamomona is a small settlement 60km from Stratford so I can not review Stratford at this time.
Whanga is a friendly alternative little town with a great pub. Very popular with travellers
Great bar service great staff fantastic reasonably priced meals. I will go again
When booking ring the hotel direct. DONT go through booking.Com it’s about 60.00 more expensive.
Regan House was a charming older house located near the center of Stratford. The room was spacious and the bed was warm and comfortable. There were really nice amenities, including warm bathrobes. But what really made the place standout, were the other things, like a home cooked, hearty breakfast. That was delicious and amazing! The gardens and outside spaces were beautiful, like being at a botanical garden. And Judith, the host, was very easy to talk to, -she made us feel so special! We would definitely stay here again!
I stayed at Broadway lodge over the Easter weekend and would highly recommend this place. There is an old New Zealand aesthetic to Stratford which makes the atmosphere really enjoyable. The apartment was clean, staff were respectful, facilities were well equipped (tv, cleaning liquid, towels), close to local shops in Stratford and the Egmont National park. Everything was available to make my stay enjoyable, and having a base to adventure in Taranaki was fantastic.
Excellent quiet property with new, top-tier fittings and fixures, friendly and helpful host, very comfortable beds, well equipped coffee/tea making facilities, room cleaned daily, continental breakfast stocked daily in the fridge in the room - allowed us to eat at leisure at our own time! Great view of Mt Taranki from the room (courtesty - clouds permitting, see attached pic). 6 min drive to Stratford town, 35 min drive to New Plymouth.
It looked as if Antonio Mews had been very tastefully refurbished from when we last stayed there. Now very modern. It was incredibly clean. The lounge/bedroom and kitchen were well laid out, and featured a good sized bathroom, plenty of light (and block out curtains) and a secure front door. The bed was a super king and very comfortable.
We shall certainly be back when next up Stratford way.
The room was clean and comfortable, it had everything we needed and was better than expected for the price. The self check in and clear communication made the entire process simple and straight forward. The location was ideal and there was a beautiful view of Mount Taranaki from just outside the motel. Would definitely stay there again if ever in the area. Highly recommend.
+ amazing Gardens around the property.
+ Great hosts (thanks for the great evenings)
+ superb cooked Breakfast and we even got to enjoy amazing dinner
+ Close (15 min Drive) to next town = Stratford
+ Great starting point for hikes from Taranaki / Egmont National Park. Visitor Centre = 40 min drive
Highly recommended to stay at TePopo Gardens instead of the towns around.
My wife kept going on how clean the rooms were. The wi-fi is fast 200mbps upload and download but if you go close to the office, its like 900mbps. They are trying to make it 900mbps in all the rooms. Very close to supermarket which was nice. Full kitchen as well. Can see Mt Taranaki from most rooms as long as its not hiding behind the clouds
The location was good for exploring the Taranaki region and also because we had come via the Forgotten Highway (note hardly any mobile coverage on that road). The staff were nice and helpful, unfortunately it rained a lot during our stay so we couldn't explore the gardens and property as much as we would have liked.
Such a lovely property.
Trish & Dave we’re so friendly (also Rusty, their little pup).
Very quiet & peaceful being about a 5 min drive out of Stratford. Short drive to the many walks up on Mt Taranaki.
Bed extremely comfortable & spa bath delicious! Lovely decor.
Would highly recommend 😊
Amazing location, an incredible view of Mt Taranaki right out of your window. Great terrace to have some wine right under the mountain. Huge modern baths with jet tubs, very comfy. Very friendly hosts who are so accommodating and full of helpful information. Delightful stay!
I've stayed here before and thoroughly enjoyed my stay so it was the ideal choice for my next visit to Stratford. Ideally placed in town though not at all noisy, and close to supermarket and all the high street shops. Great place to stay and the manager is a lovely lady.
Comfortable bed and good shower. Very friendly staff. We liked the bbq and outdoor dining areas, lawn and gazebo. Great view back there. Grocery store very close. Kitchenette is good to have. Laundry was super convenient. Easy to visit Taranaki!
The hotel rooms were very comfortable and clean- although we would have liked another chair to sit in. The management were very helpful and friendly. Unfortunately we had bad weather but the manager suggested a walk for us which was great.
It was a lovely old hotel which we really enjoyed. It had a modern new shower which was very nice. The room was very comfortable. The hostess was very helpful and keen to make sure that we had a good stay.
Very cosy place to stay the bed was super comfortable and shower was awsome.
If you want to go do some nice walks around mount Taranaki this is the place too go great location.
