The hotel is very close to Chichen-Itza - just 5 minutes drive from there.
The design of the hotel is really great - you kind of get into a hacienda-style building - pretty large (probably the largest compared to other hotels I saw nearby).
There is a pretty large pool inside the hotel.
The rooms are perfect to spend a night before visiting Chichen-Itza.
There is a restaurant in the hotel with quite an vast menu, including food for kids and national cuisine, so we did not need to go anywhere after a 2.5 hour drive from Cancun.
So, a very good choice if you are visiting Chichen-Itza and would like to get into a truly archeological vibe of those lands.
As a recommendation (not a dislike but rather an advise) - if you include the restaurant menu in here and into your website, I think that might persuade more people to choose your hotel.
And you are worth it because our dinner at your hotel's restaurant was really great!

The room was really lovely and the area of the place as well. There was a pool in the middle of the area, which we unfortunately didn't have time to try, but it is a great option to have, especially during the hot days. You can park inside the area as well, with a locked gate, so your car is safe overnight. The staff was friendly and helpful and there are some nice small places to eat around. Great place to stay if you come visit Chichen Itza, it's just 5 minutes away by car.
Situated on the main street of the charming village of Pisté, this renovated colonial-style hotel is less than 1.5 km from the famous Chichen Itza ruins.

Get there early and head to the Osuary complex so you can have it all to yourself. Most people go the other way. The night show was cool, but not required, the daytime is a requirement for every explorer!

Stay in Valladolid and drive-- or better yet stay in Piste- and walk to the ruins and get there when they open at 8am. On the Sunday morning we arrived at 830am, there were less than 25 people that we could see-- total-- and no vendors yet. Our photos of the main pyramids have literally zero other people in the background, and we saw lots of colorful birds and enjoyed the empty grounds.
By the time we left at 11:30am, there were 3 or 4 thousand people there, mostly arriving on tour buses from Cancun, and the vendors were aggressive and noisy and it was less appealing of a destination. YES get there as early as possible.

Always impressive to visit but too crowded and touristy the last couple of times. The parking lot was only available for tour vans and buses so struggled outside to find a parking spot. Had to walk 600 meters to get to the ticket booth. Next time I'd go as early as they open to avoid crowds, heat and parking issues.

Chichen Itza is amazing!
Chichen Itza is amazing! Well worth suffering the heat and bugsI (even in February)
There are lots of vendors selling their wares. I've read that they are not usually handmade, which would explain why so many things were only ONE Dollar! Heard someone say not to buy wooden masks etc as they would not pass customs.
Bring: hat, bug spray, sunblock, water.
C.I. is very isolated. There are tour buses that take you from Cancun to CI.
It's a full day and usually about $120 dollars. Be careful not to confuse dollars and mexican pesos. At this time the peso is about 20 cents so 100 pesos is $5 dollars. I recommend bringing a debit card and some mexican $. ( Can be purchased beforehand at AAA)
Wear sturdy closed toe shoes as it is very dusty and rocky. No stairs, however. If you take a tour, they will feed you lunch about 2 pm. Bring snacks if you are accustomed to eating lunch earlier.
Be on top of your email and messages as the tour originally said they would pick me up at my hotel, but changed to another hotel the day prior to the tour.
If you don't take a tour, I would rent a car. Bus and taxi connections aren't the best. I took a taxi from Mayalands hotel to Valladodid for about $35. Then I took a bus to Cancun central bus station, then a taxi to the airport. I spent about $75 and it took the better part of the day.
Taxi's from Mayalands to the airport run about $200 US.
BTW, the tour takes you to a cenote where you can swim. Bring your suit and a towel, plus water shoes. The trek at ILKIL was about 100 stairs and slippery.
One last thing, as of February 2022, one must wear a mask in Mexico ALL THE TIME.

It’s definitely worth it booking a tour guide as there’s so many details that need to be pointed out in order to appreciate the experience. Though most guides seemed to be asking for 900 pesos, which felt too steep. So we were actually very lucky to find a guide called Miguel who goes around in a little car (as he’s disabled), who charged us 500 pesos and gave us an amazing tour.
Also, you’ll find there’s LOTS of art & souvenirs for sale, and they’ll quote you double the price if you can’t speak Spanish… so I’d suggest waiting until the end and buying whatever you like after you’ve seen all the stalls and haggle!

This ancient Mayan ruin is well preserved and maintained.
This ancient Mayan ruin is well preserved and maintained. Kukulcan is amazing but you cannot access or climb it. Doing this ruin with a guide was essential as the experience would have been much less without the knowledge a guide has.
This location allows you to take advantage of the archaeological site just at your back door and the Hotel offers an amazing view of the ruin observatory from your room...for an additional cost. We took the tour from Cancun to Chichen itza, last time visited and were not able to see the night show extravaganza (in Spanish) because of logistics for driving. We also visited a couple of the cenotes and the local town of Piste which is very traditional and pleasant at night for dining at local restaurants. Security to hotel was above par.
If you are in town to go visit the Cenotes or Chichen Itza this place is excellent! You are right in the close to everything that that area has to offer.
We can't say enough about Luis! he was the most helpful, knowledgeable and Friendly host we have had the pleasure of meeting.
The Breakfast he serves you is amazing and will even pack you your leftovers to eat throughout the day of exploring.
It feels like you are eating breakfast out in your private little jungle.
Perfect place to disconnect and relax.
Good value for money at this basic accommodation which felt luxurious due to materials used in building construction. Clean with bug screens on windows, AC in the room. This property is less than 5 minutes (driving) away from the entrance to Chichen Itzá, making it an ideal base to explore the park from. The Casa de Las Lunas has parking available onsite secured behind a gate.
If you stay here, pop up the street to Las Mestizas restaurant and order the Sopa de Limón. You won’t regret it!
This is alright place to stay for one night. It’s very close to the Chichén Itzá ruins.
My room was cleaner than I expected and general impression was much better than I read in other reviews.
Hotel needs some renovation, it looks tired. The pool is fine though it is only one meter deep. It gives you some refreshment after a hot day in Chichén Itzá.
Restaurant has minimal selection of dishes but the food I chose was tasty and good.
Our short stay at Hotel Chichen Itza was exceptional! We came from Merida for a weekend trip to visit Chichen Itza and this hotel made it all worthwhile. Absolutely fabulous location, the room was so lovely, the beds were so comfy, great water pressure in the shower, the pool was the perfect temperature, and breakfast each morning was delicious. All of the staff were so kind and attentive - we want to come back already!
This is a gorgeous, stylish hotel with a lot of history. The view from our room was incredible. Everything was clean and tidy and the food was excellent. The Chichen Itza tour guide organised by the hotel was knowledgeable, professional and friendly.
If you're going to Chichen Itza this is a great place that is pretty close but not tied up in hustle, bustle. Seemed super safe, (our car was behind a closed gate. The hosts were marvelous including the pet deer. The facilities were spotless.
Luis is an amazing host, kindhearted , superfriendly and made us feel like home! magnificent host, amazing breakfast, good location. Also Luis gave us good suggestions while visiting Chichen Itza and nearby cenotes. Thank you!
This was a surprisingly great hotel, located within walking distance of Chichen Itza! The food and service in the restaurant was INCREDIBLE!! The grounds were fun to explore, though we didn't have time to enjoy the pool.
Location is great- Chichen Itza is in 5 minutes by car, room is spacious and clean. The garden is pretty and a pool is nice option to have after visiting Chichen Itza. Hotel staff is friendly.
Vanessa and Joel were fantastic. Short stoll into Piste. The room was perfect and the pool area was perfect for chill out time after morning at Chichen Itza. Superb and thank you!!!
The location near Chichen Itzá, really close to nature, the plants. Great hotel to relax aa there were no televisions in the room. Enjoyed the pool and the hammock in the patio.
Jungle location, room was very clean, good for wildlife photography! Decent enough food. Checking in / out was fine and smoothly handled. Great location for Chichen Itza.
