Lovely welcome and the room was beautiful. Dinner and breakfast were Japanese style and well worth it. They even provided bikes to travel 1km down the road to the onsen after our long day of hiking.

Kaako was the kindest, thoughtfull person you could imagine, proud and eager to talk about her region, and willing to help you with everything you would need, hiking advice, transportation, etc... She is also an amazing cook, I had the best meals of my trip there ! Fully recommended if you love hiking, sightseeing, eating of course, and Koyasan is just 15 minutes by car. What else? The floor in the room has heating ! How great is that?

I stayed in the old bulding and had the pleasure to listen to waterfall and frog sounds from the nearby river all night. Very soothing.
The place has a great retro atmosphere, clean and nice onsen and great food.
On top of that, when I inquired about public buses to Koyasan from near villages, I was told by the receptionist he will take me there the next morning via car. Free of charge. What a service!

Outstanding and unique experience. Warm welcome (we arrived early and were able to check in immediately). Good location for exploring Koyasan town. Beautiful surroundings, stunning interior decor in the dining rooms, nice onsen, astonishingly good vegetarian food. The temple master made us feel very welcome at the prayer service and explained everything. Super friendly staff and smiling monks :)

Amazing experience!!! There is a heater in the room, so even if you are traveling during the cold season, you can sleep in a heated room. Great typical dinner, and excellent location.
