We visited Tropea in the first half of April.
We visited Tropea in the first half of April. The weather was pleasant and the city wasn´t crowded. Many of the restaurants and bars were still closed before the real season start but there were still plenty of options. Parking wasn´t very easy (and I expect to get some fines in the upcoming weeks).

I was there out of season.
I was there out of season. Many restaurants in Tropea were shut but enough. More opened at the weekend.
Public transport seems limited to the trains. Tropes is on a branch line and at best the trains are every 2 hours. There are lots of beaches to explore.
Access to the hills. Would require some research.

Tropea was an awesome little town!!
Tropea was an awesome little town!! Very quaint, plenty of restaurants, gellato stores and little shops! It has the perfect mix of stores, food, and outdoor activities. I WISH I had planned a longer stay, would go back here in a heartbeat!

The historic town is mostly pedestrianised or traffic restricted, and although heavily populated by tourists it is big enough not to be overwhelmed (at least that was the case in September). There is a lot of good historic architecture from a variety of periods, and many good restaurants. The beaches are not large, but are within walking distance of the town centre, but you need to be prepared for climbing lots of steps to get to them from the town.

It's a small town with a lot of ancient history.
It's a small town with a lot of ancient history. I highly recommend taking the time to read up on the history of Tropea - how it was founded, how old it is and many other awesome historical facts about it.
Tropea is not just a beach or resort vacation - I am always excited about the crooked streets, the food, the scenic views and the amazing vibe of the place and the people.
Makes me want to come here again and again!
One last tip - sunscreen, hiking shoes and a basic Italian vocabulary will make your visit perfect )
The room was large enough for four people, but the room is divided in two with a see-through bookshelf, from ceiling to floor making it appear cozy and more inviting. Its clean and nicely decorated with a big clean closet. There are two beds, and the one I used closest to the balcony is very comfortable. The sheets and bedding are new and very clean. The pillows are just right. I slept the best of all the places I stayed in Italy on this trip. Really a nice space to relax and enjoy the view.
The staff was exceptionally gracious, warm, helpful, friendly, knowledgeable. The rooms and breakfast area were extremely clean with gorgeous views. The location was within the historical center but also close to access the central stairs to the beach. They had umbrellas for guests to use, a washing machine, assisted with dinner reservations and arranging transportation and even offered to drive us to the train station. This was truly an oasis within an already spectacular area of Italy.
This is a family run B&B, and you can feel their dedication and hospitality when you come here. The location is perfect if you are coming by train. The rooms are clean with nice balcony to relax. The old town is 10 - 15 minutes away by foot. The breakfast was divine, the best we had so far in Italy. Everything is homemade and Antonio will make sure you don't lack anything and that everything is to your taste. We would always come back here if we visit Tropea again.
We travel often in Italy, but the host is the best host of our trips She welcomed us with a warm heart and sincerely moved us to the parking lot and was with her during our stay so we had beautiful and perfect Tropea days. If you do, she will do her best to recognize and reply. The apartment is a great place. Beautiful views, convenient facilities, and central location. The days spent here are the best of my life.
This was our first trip to Tropea. We selected Villa Vittoria without personal knowledge. We were pleased with the location; in the middle of the main areas; We walked everywhere. The breakfast was great; better than others on our trip. The staff; Ilenia and Anna Maria were exceptional; helpful and pleasant. We would certainly stay again. We appreciated the Beach Shuttle. We used it once when we had tired.
Quaint and beautiful surroundings didn’t make it feel like a traditional hotel at all. This is personified by the breakfast service which is stunning. The staff were so accommodating and kind in all aspects.
It’s a fantastically quiet, clean and manicured hotel and ticks every box whoever you are and whatever you intend to do in this region of Italy.
I would recommend this to anyone. Thank you so much.
We really enjoyed our stay at apartment. I appreciate the interest in the customer. Daughter of owner have found us on street upon the later arrival to accomodate us, everything explained in english, it was nice. I'd like to describe the area of Tropea, beaches, restaurants and shops, but you must discover it and to experience it on your own to have the best memories on holiday in Italy. Thank you! xxx
This was the best accommodation we stayed in during our time in Italy. The lady who works there was on her day off, regardless we had an attentive person who helped us check-in and provided useful recommendations.
Incredibly clean and spacious room. We had a good sized TV with Netflix on it. Parking spot was free and very close to the place. Breakfast was very good too with a range of food.
It is one of the most beautiful towns in Italy. Really beautiful with a wonderful atmosphere, with historical monuments, beautiful greenery and original wonderful restaurants in small streets. beautiful view from the ramparts to the blue-green sandy beaches. Undoubtedly, together with Capo Vaticano, there are also the most beautiful beaches in all of Italy.
Wonderful! We booked our room two hours before arriving and could not have been happier. Even more beautiful than the photos, newly renovated and modern. Amazing host who assisted us with parking upon arrival and suggested excellent places for dinner. The breakfast in the morning on the rooftop terrace was fantastic!! Will stay again if we are in Tropea!!
Emilio and his mother run a flawless place in Tropea. The room was spotless and the breakfast was fresh. The Hotel is situated in the heart of Tropea with access to everything (Beach, Restaurants, Shops) within minutes. Emilio answered and all of our needs in a timely basis and always went the extra step to ensure our needs were met.
Best value for money during our vacation in Calabria (much better as expected by the foregoing ratings). We had a big balconny where we enjoyed the evenings. Location ok, very nice beach on walking distance but Tropea for us too far to walk (so we used the car).
A wonderful small and charming hotel with excellent breakfast and extremely friendly staff. The location of the hotel is also top, you are quickly at the beach but also quickly in the old town of Tropea (max. 10 minutes by foot).
It was out of the hustle of the city but a very short drive to get into the city if you wanted. Staff were extremely friendly and the property was very nice. Breakfast in the morning was the best we had in Italy so far.
Location, staff, room, cleanliness, view, everything about this hotel was was 10/10. Will definitely be back! Thanks for a wonderful stay in the beautiful Tropea
