A very friendly town with good restaurants and good quality shops. If you are self catering there is a fabulous supermarket in the centre of town, wine shops with wine tasting, deli's and cheese shops. We had only a few days there but we will return. We ate in the square where all the restaurants were good, they were full so best to book early.

Asti is an historic town in the heart of the famous Piedmonte wine region and is readily accessible to the surrounding area of vineyards, wineries, great wine tasting, castles, hilltop towns like La Morra and, Barola, Roman ruins, and amazing countryside. The Etruscans were here before the Romans and the area has so much history. Asti, Like Sienna has its Contradas and has the race in the Fall while Sienna has it in July. We were lucky enough to see the Contrada parade and flag throwing practice in the Plazza in preparation for the event.

I stayed one night on a journey through Europe.
I stayed one night on a journey through Europe. I'd expected somewhere basic - but this place was Fawlty Towers made flesh. There was no heating in the room, at a time of year when the outside temperature was -5'c. The corridors & stairwells were pitch-black, as the sensors for the lights were ineffective, so I navigated my way around using the torch from my phone. When I went down to reception in the morning, the whole area was full of piles of broken glass, shards of crockery & the smashed remains of a grandfather clock - I've no idea why (break-in? fight between guests?). None of the staff who were present in the morning could speak any English. Breakfast was a microwaved croissant & slice of cake, a glass of juice & a cup of instant coffee.

The apartment was located right next to an all you can eat sushi restaurant. It was Fantastic! I spent the day walking the streets and enjoying coffee, sandwiches and pizza as well as checking out the local architecture. The town itself is very cute and a wonderful piece of Italy!
Absolutely marvellous! We loved everything about this friendly and chic family run hotel. We enjoyed relaxing in the bar area on the comfy leather sofas over a delicious, perfectly chilled wine. Staff went out of their way to make us welcome and ensure we had the best stay possible. Lovely room and bathroom, all beautifully and freshly decorated plus generous, tasty breakfast with lots of local, home-baked options and variety. We would return to Asti just for the opportunity to stay here again. Parking was easy. Mille grazie!
Our stay at La Tintoria was excellent. The apartment is perfectly located in central Asti, which is a lovely little gem near Turin. Lorenzo is a great host and gave us perfect tips of restaurants and attractions in the city. He even booked a wonderful restaurant for us before we arrived at his apartment, as we could not book ourselves on route. Grazie mille!
The lovely room, basket of fruit and bottle of wine were so welcoming I almost cried. This was the break we were looking for after interesting, but tiring visits in Florence and Venice. Easy access to Barolo, Asti is a town just lively enough for an 11pm dinner. The breakfast is off the hook! Homemade pastries that will make your day!
Hotel La Fertè is a quiet and comfortable place to stay the night within close vicinity of the medieval town of Asti. Our room was spacious, simple, comfortable and clean. Our dinner al fresco at La Fertè was simply good. Breakfast was very good, with delicious homemade pies. Prices are decent.
Our stay at the farm, looking out at the rolling hills, grape vines and fruit trees, was fantastic. The breakfast was delicious, with homemade jams and juices. We left with jams, honey and wine produced by the family. We would love to go back. Wish we'd stayed longer.
Beautiful place with two of the most welcoming, warm, kind-hearted hosts one could ask for. Will always remember my stay in Cascina Rossa and would definitely love to visit again. The husband even helped me fixed my bike! Thank you both of you!!
Asti is a lovely city and enjoyed our walk at night through the old city center. Breakfast was excellent in a beautifully decorated room with all kinds of antique and collector items. the parking in their courtyard was very convenient.
Location was the best!
Front desk staff spoke English and that was so helpful because we only spoke “Hi and Bye” in Italian. The front desk staff was accommodating and all of them at different shifts were very helpful.
A well located property with a view of the Asti Cathedral. This was one of the nicest apartments I've stayed at during this trip. The hostess was very responsive and pro active in sending information about the stay.
