Lovely stay, we were upgraded to a larger room at no extra cost as it was a quiet time of year! Very kind of them to do this. Beautiful grounds with many lovely walks nearby. Unfortunately we came early in the week and the hotel restaurant was closed until the weekend so unable to comment on the food. But a very clean comfortable stay in a wonderful little town!
Be sure to stop by Bowes for lunch and Bob’s for a pint. Fifty Seven is also a lovely local shop with some elegant women’s fashion! And Durrow Castle was just across the way, it was free to roam around the garden and explore the grounds. You will not regret a visit to Durrow!
Donaghmore is a very small old rural village. There’s a pub that looked lovely but food service stopped at 4 so we didn’t visit. I visited the famine museum and it was great.
Nearby towns we visited were castlecomer, graignamangh. Both beautiful.
