This is a fantastic spot well away from the hustle and bustle and endless tourists of Bali. The swimming pool is small but great, with plenty of space for sun loungers in the sun or shade. The menu is very small, but delicious. I ate dinner here every night: all Indonesian, home-cooked and super healthy and cheap. The breakfast is also great in the morning: home-baked bread, homemade jam, eggs of your choice and a fresh fruit platter :) There are three dogs on the property who were all lovely and made me feel safe at night after the staff go home. The nearest supermarket was a 15-minute walk down the mountain, and the beach was also around 15 minutes walking away. If you're looking for some real peace and quiet, this is the place for you. WiFi is also very good in the main villa area, so working here was easy (downloads, etc).

Gaia-Oasis Abasan Mountain Retreat is one of the most beautiful places I have found in Bali and is most probably one of the last hidden paradises of peace and tranquility on the island. The vast property lays on a hillside and the buildings are nestled amongst the trees. There is a wonderful scent of Frangipani flowers all over the place. There are different accommodations to choose from, there is a 13-m pool in which extended swimming is possible and the place features Yoga and Meditation halls with stunning views. The main building is the restaurant, where delicious meals are served three times a day and free tea and flavoured water is available all day long. This place is perfect for people who wish to get away from the mainstream tourism, who love nature and are looking for a way to disconnect from a 24/7 availability. Internet is available in the main building/restaurant. Everything is very clean and well maintained. What makes the place unique, however, is the people: I met three of the founders and they where very hospitable and made me feel like home far away from home. All members of the staff are very friendly and go to great lengths to make sure their guests are well accommodated. Thank you Yen, Helen and Mariah for unforgettable moments. The staff was very kind and lovely. The service of the dinner was great not only the food was so yummy but also they offered having it with a fire next to the swimming pool. The villa with 2 rooms and a private swimming pool was great. The location is perfect if you are thinking of doing the trekking to Mount Batur. I would definitely recommend this accomodation

When we turned up late to the villa we were greeted by the 3 young guys that run it, they invited us to a bonfire on the premises and we had a couple bintangs with them. Extremely friendly group of guys, had a lovely stay here! I left my shower filter at the villa and moved on to the next accommodation, I messaged Simon and he was outside or accommodation with the filter in 20 minutes! The staff are what made our experience great here. Loved it! Thank you guys :)
