We had a brilliant time at Mary’s. The location in town is perfect - quiet but a stone’s throw from the seafront with shops etc very nearby. Apartment itself has everything needed (even a coffee machine!) and is stylishly and cleanly decorated. Very much appreciated the owners attention to detail and it made for a lovely home away from home while exploring the island. Angela was hugely helpful and welcoming. Thank you!

The hotel is very well situated near the ferry and near the seafront and the many restaurants. It is a family run hotel and the owner Eleni couldn’t have been nicer. Her elderly mother and father were also lovely. The hotel is basic but very clean and the roof top is a lovely place to sip a glass of wine with a wonderful view.

Took us an out to get there from airport (at night). Sami was a great and central place to stay as we wanted to drive around the island. The apartment had a walk in shower which would flood if not careful but no issue. Little kitchen. Big bed which was really comfy. Balcony. All you needed in one space. Plenty of restaurants on harbour front and there’s supermarket, butchers around the corner as well as else where. Parking on the street was easy. We went out of season so I wonder if that would change? Would recommend travelling the island! And exploring Sami and surrounding areas.

Fantastic size ! So big and a gorgeous view . Really comfortable bed . Lovely family and a darling dog Bubu!! Set in a hillside surrounded by olive trees . Peaceful and a really short drive into town . You could easily walk in . Fantastic to have a washing machine to get our laundry done and hung out on our own line . Definitely recommend .

Short walk, 15(ish) minute walk to the centre of Sami. Amazing views of Sami and surrounds. Was in love with all the animals while I was there, especially the dogs

What went well?..... Everything! Communication was excellent. Afrodite accommodated our requests prior to arrival - such as a ground floor apartment - and check in process was simple..... reception inside the gift shop for the caves and collect keys. Car is a must, IMO, unless you're a walker but the heat can be dangerous so be sensible! The apartment was pristine, comfortable and well equipped. Cleaner comes every single day - unexpected but most welcome although, on some days we just said "No, thank you" as we'd hardly been there and there really wasn't anything that needed doing. Bless her - the cleaner actually looked disappointed and I wondered if she only got paid per apartment but I checked and that was not the case. Managed to drop my SIM card inside the apartment and didn't realise until next day when we were on an all day boat trip. Hooked onto my friend's data, sent a message to Afrodite and, 12 minutes later, had a reply that it had been found! Pool was immaculate and a really good size. Plenty of sunbeds and shade and at the very tail end of the season and into October, we had the pool to ourselves most days. Added bonus - it was lit at night until around 11pm which we took advantage of on our first night and several others. It's a peaceful place and we had an absolutely fabulous time there. We have both previously stayed at Pericles Hotel on each of our individual visits to Kef but our dates meant we couldn't this time. Always been happy enough there but Stalaktites surpassed it by a country mile. Looking forward to returning next year!

Lovely location 1 mile out of Sami meant it was v quiet and nice walk into town. A few chainsaws and goat bells but that is rural greece.

Captain’s Gem and the town of Sami was our favorite location during our two-week tour across Greece (it is our new home away from home). Great location, beautiful rooms, walking distance to shops, restaurants, and the beach. The accommodations and the view of the harbor is exceptional. The host was excellent. Very clean, spacious, and modern accommodations. They even had a washing machine which was very handy for freshening up our clothing after the first eleven days of our trip.

Good communication from Angela. Location was excellent, walking distance to all amenities in Sami. The welcome gift was good. The house was well equipped, really handy having the washing machine. The garden was pleasant, though looking a bit tired.
