Lovely location, very close to the tow path next to the Thames and great for walking our dog without having to navigate the busy narrow roads at Sonning.
We dined there in the evening, limited range for vegetarians but helpful staff who gained advise from the Kitchen on dairy free options. Book a table ahead of your stay especially at the weekend.
Our breakfast was very good, cut above the usual offering of a fry up 😉 but offered that to!
Be accepting that this is a very popular busy pub so the noise that travels up into the rooms might not suit everyone, however, it will quieten down after the pub closes and the hardworking staff head on home 😊

Nice town.
Have visited a few pubs/restaurants there over a few years.
Always good food/friendly atmosphere.
Decent golf course nearby (Sonning) which is usually my reason to visit each year.

Just off the M4 Wokingham is a convenient base to explore both Thames Valley and events at Ascot Racecourse. Places like Henley on Thames and Windsor are easily accessible by road and hotels tend to charge much less. It is also a good jumping off area to London, so attracts visitors from continent who cannot afford / do not want to stay in Central London. With fast Elizabeth line service to London from nearby Twyford this is a good base and the railway connection from nearby Reading means a day trip to Bath is very easy.

A quiet town within reach for both work & leisure.
A quiet town within reach for both work & leisure.
A drive of less than 2 hours will get you to central London, avoiding expensive accommodation cost of Central London & yet you could enjoy the nature & quietness at Wokingham after a day out at London.

Big impressive building in lovely grounds, nothing wrong...
Big impressive building in lovely grounds, nothing wrong with the room or the breakfast but the whole interior is in need of a freshen up and it was very quiet as we stayed mid week. The bar was almost empty.
Lovely terrace overlooking formal gardens so if weather is warm, a nice place to sit and have a drink.
Imagine it would come to life at weekends with weddings and other events.
The venue was spacious and freshly maintained, the location had easy parking, the surrounding area was so nice with nearby woods to walk in, freshly picked strawberries given to us by nikki was a great start to our day. We enjoyed seeing the farm animals too. City centre was only 10mins drive and had plenty of food and drinks options too. Will be staying here again for sure.
The afternoon shift staff member who managed to change our room to something a little better after we asked him to refund our money so we could leave. He at least understood that we were not happy
The hotel is well located if you have things to do in the local area
Lovely quiet site in the woods. Clean facilities. Lots of wildlife to watch. Less than 10 minutes walk to a great children’s play area with new paddling pool ( currently booking is required for pool). Popular cafe.
Feed the ducks and geese here too.
The accomodation was in a good area and close to my friends home.
I stayed in room 12, and the size of the room was great and the bed was comfortable and bed linen was clean and fresh. Also the full breakfast was good as well.
Great location - an easy walk into the city, and nice to be on the outskirts. Friendly staff, and excellent food in the attached bar/restaurant. Will defintely look to book again next time I'm in Wokingham.
This was a great alternative to Travelodge/Premier Inn who's charges seem to have rocketed. The room was clean and tidy, pristine sheets and towels. The restaurant was quaint and the Thai food was excellent
immaculately clean, well appointed, comfortable, yummy breakfast cooked to order. very friendly and accommodating hostess (Nancy). best shower in the entire UK. I will stay here again whenever I am near!
Right next to my family house. It was easy to check in. And really easy to check out. The hotel was clean and spacious. We stayed outside what was really nice because you had a door to the back yard.
The bed was comfy, the shower was nice with an added bonus of toiletries being provided. Tv had NOW tv. Host was very friendly and helpful - gave us lots of ideas of what to do in the local area.
The accommodation is beautiful, clean and comfortable. The host Mike was extremely thoughtful and organised. I will be recommending this place to everyone staying in this area of the country.
Location perfect as we stayed following a day at Nirvana spa. Hotel looked freshly painted and well maintained
warm and comfortable.
plenty of car parking and easy to book in and check out
We couldn’t fault anything. It was the cleanest, most comfortable, friendliest place we have ever had the pleasure of staying in. Won’t consider staying anywhere else when in the area.
There was a parking space for two our cars, which was super impressive.
Also the area is very quiet, the apartments is cozy, though the total area is not that big.
The beds was good
Stayed at the Emmbrook Inn a few times. Always a very clean room, good quality linen, quiet room, easy parking within walking distance of the center of Wokingham.
