The very friendly landlord welcomed me. I got my single room, very clean and tidy, comfortable single bed, Netflix TV and plenty of storage possibilities. In the house kitchen I got to use two shelves in the fridge. I also was able to wash my clothes. The bathroom sharing was no problem, as the second room didn‘t have guests during 4/5 of my stay. It is a upper neighborhood, very silent and plenty of free parking in front of the house.

The air conditioning did not work ( reported)
No attempt to repair or even investigate!
Curtains would not close subsequently sun streaming in to patio doors.
Attempts at using the fan proved too noisy
Using the continuous bathroom extractor to enable at least an attempt at some sort respite required the bathroom light permanently switched on.
Since no door wedges were available the luggage rack came in useful.
In the morning finally contacted the new duty
Manager who attended the room her reaction was "its very warm"
That was early morning with the doors open and the sun not directly on the room.
She kindly offered 20 percent off the bill
( all she was entitled to)
We stay regularly at this hotel and have been

Very disappointed at our stay.
Which incidentally as you are aware is not low cost.
In the past we have attempted the breakfast.

Breakfast was nice and had dairy alternatives. Check in was quick with friendly staff. The room was big with comfy beds. Really good place to stay the night before cruising from Southampton port.

The evening meals in the restaurant were well-prepared and nicely presented, not big portions. Helpful and friendly front-of-house staff. Very accommodating thank you to them, the staff were a great advert for the island. The bed was fine and big and the bed room furniture was good, not so the rest of the suite.
