Food was delicious. We had dinner one evening and breakfast both mornings - no complaints.

Excellent recent refurbishment of restaurant/bar and restrooms. Superb seafood platter in particular at dinner - lovely breakfast. Stunning location/views. Friendly staff who all get on well as a team. Hands on owners. Real value for money for rooms / food and drinks. Also had Sky Sports!

The hotel was in a great location - once we had mastered the one way system. Very quirky reflecting its history. Lovely comfortable room with river views and easy walk of the town,
lovely place for wedding party,
but noisy wedding guests spoiled the stay for me,
traffic noise was an issue too, as dual carriageway on two sides of the property ,
lovely walks close by
lovely staff too
very good restaurant for dinner and breakfast

The staff were excellent, nice and very helpful. Breakfast was average and the evening meals were adequate, but the hotel was lovely as you would expect from a country manor house, very quirky too. The room and especially the bathroom are superb, very cleanly kept too,
Would we go back ?
Probably would, It is expensive but for a special occasion it is somewhere we would consider again.

Levens is a pretty little place, narrow roads and lanes require care though it was not busy. I'd recommend the Hare and Hounds as a great place to eat, good food, friendly staff and reasonably priced.

I used Levens as a base and drove out each day to visit other parts of the Lake District. It’s a good location to get out onto the road and drive to other places. There did seem to be a local bus service but I didn’t use this so I’m not sure how frequent the buses are. I’d suggest that you really do need a car if you’re staying here.
The local area also seemed to have good options for things to do - eg Levens Hall.
Levens is a small, pretty village. The Hare and Hounds has parking so it was easy to park next to where I was staying. The pub is a friendly place to spend time.
I had Sunday dinner and breakfasts at the pub - the food is of a high quality and you can tell that great care is taken in preparing and presenting it. It’s good wholesome food.

With very helpful front desk staff, the ambience was relaxing and comfortable. The quality of the rooms (despite paying the upper price of those available) was ok, not that much better than a Premier Inn just smaller. Water pressure in the shower poor to the point that when inverted, the water flow almost stopped. Lots of unmentioned stairs, no lift, uneven car park. The meals were good (breakfast) to very good (a la carte dinner). Drinks reasonable selection but on the upper level of pricing, de rigueur for this sort of location, but within reason. Television remote wasn't working and the two replacements brought up didn't work either. Easy to find and nicely out of the way. if they were aiming for "shabby chic" they aren't far off.
Fantastic little village hotel serving excellent food. Our room "Prickard" was just what we needed and had all the amenities that we required for our short stay. The cosy little bar with dining area was very quaint and obviously a favourite with the locals. Staff were very welcoming and couldn't do enough to ensure we enjoyed our stay. Food was excellent.
Very friendly staff, most welcoming. Hotel with lots of fascinating history, interesting features and well preserved period architecture. Clean, large comfortable rooms, easily accessed ground floor facilities for people with mobility issues and walk-in showers. Good choice for breakfast and safe, close car parking. Easy access to South Lakes.
Pretty much everything was excellent and we are thinking of stopping again on our way back from our main holiday on Isle of Mull
We would particularly like to thank Janet, and her co worker but I didn’t get his name, as they were very welcoming and gave what is a fabulous Villa a really homely and welcoming feel
10/10 for Villa Levens
What a find! Everything was just great, would definatley recommend for a short break. Levens is a lovely place just a little way out of the tourist areas in the lakes. The breakfast and evening meal where really good and the rooms comfortable and stylish with tea/coffee facilities and a fridge. Staff are amazing!
We had a pleasant welcome at the reception. We had booked two rooms and both of them were exceptional. The rooms were very clean, bathrooms were up to high standards, beds were super comfy and room amenities were high class. All the staff were very nice and helpful. Thank you to every one at The Villa Levens.
Amazing hotel. Immaculately Clean room was very Spacious and So Cosy. Food at dinner and Breakfast was Exceptional. Staff were the most pleasant and friendliest I've ever encountered. We will most definitely be back. Keep doing what you are doing 👏 ❤️ We Absolutely loved our Stay.
Room was furnished beautifully. All meals excellent and staff so helpful and friendly. Ideally located for Levens Hall topiary gardens and for visiting the lakes. All in all, a perfect stay. Look forward to revisiting.
Only problem was we didn't have long enough here so are going to have to re visit. Stayed here but wedding at villa Leven's. Rooms/staff/Breakfast first classing. Nothing not to like thanks
Some of the staff were great and helpful, see below for the opposite.
The driveway, the fields around the hotel look lovely but the building itself looks a bit tatty in places.
We were amongst first guests after lockdown and it was quite obvious that the hotel/staff were in process of opening hotel after a long closure.
Location excellent for lakes.
The hare and hounds levens was superb! A little country pub/hotel down a quiet country lane. Staff wonderful and food great!! Would recommend to anyone!
