What a wonderful peaceful break. The cabin we had booked (Aspen leaves) was not available so we were offered another cabin, The wood cabin. It was lovely! the bonus was the outdoor bath, overlooking the beautiful countryside.

Cozy little hut but felt very spacious. Good quality bed with bedding to make it comfortable, sitting and storage space, small kitchen area with stove, pots & pans and utensils, outside sitting area. Everything that you need to make it a comfortable getaway.

Had a very relaxing stay. The rooms are in a cottage style forming two sides of a square. They are well fitted out, being relatively spacious, including a bath as well as a shower. Many nice touches in the room, including fresh milk for tea and large bottles of still and sparkling water which were refilled every day. The hotel is in a good location with lots of places to visit. Petworth House is only a few miles away. There is a bus stop nearby. I used this as a base for walking part of the South Downs Way
The restaurant and bar are just across a very quiet country road. The food was very good, very tasty English breakfast. Dinner in the restaurant was also excellent. A well thought out menu with a good choice of fare. I had a main + dessert on four nights and none disappointed.
This elegant hotel sits within the 12,000 acre Goodwood Estate, at the gateway to the South Downs. Guests have 2 golf courses, a health club and restaurants serving ingredients from the estate.
Set in acres of West Sussex countryside, West Dean College is just 6 miles from historic Chichester and 13 minutes’ drive from the heart of the South Downs National Park.

What a beautiful location, a paradise. The house itself is a marvel, and I had never seen Salvador Dali's lobster telephone up close , an added bonus! I shall certainly feel tempted to return for a short course. Sadly we missed breakfast but were provided with a continental style breakfast instead, so kind and unexpected.
Set in the South Downs National Park, in acres of rolling Sussex countryside, The White Horse is a country pub offering British cuisine, luxurious bedrooms and free Wi-Fi.
Great place to stay, easy for Chichester and Arundel.
Great place to stay, easy for Chichester and Arundel. Weald and Downlands museum definitely worth a visit - take walking shoes.
The White Horse is great for gastropub food; The Forresters Arms does good pub food if you want soemething a bit simpler.

Just be aware that all the local pubs are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays making eating out very difficult. Had to travel into Midhurst on the Tuesday evening for a meal and that proved extremely disappointing.

The photos really don't do the Hideaway justice.
The photos really don't do the Hideaway justice. The place was lovely and clean, had good facilities and the setting in the South Downs is simply stunning. In one night we saw deer, badgers, rabbits and a fox! Also I managed to lose my wallet and Oliver the owner searched the place more than once after we left and posted it back to us, for which I was incredibly grateful..
Would highly recommend the Hideaway.

Pubs that sell great food and give a warm welcome are a mile away from the property which can be walked down a path away from roads - very relaxing.
The only noise at the property was birdsong - fantastic!
