The hotel bedroom we stayed in has recently been updated and was beautifully decorated in neutral colours. The bathroom was well-appointed with everything we needed. Breakfast was delicious with a good selection and friendly service. Dinner was just as good with a nice, relaxed vibe. Beryl and Mark, the owners, were so thoughtful and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble.

Glossop is a fabulous market town, with great walking in the dark peak close by. Culturally it is developing its offer with galleries, restaurants and events. It has close access links, with Manchester a 30min train ride away.

Beautiful countryside walks lots of dog friendly pubs. Local taxi company Padtax were amazing and if you let them know you have a little dog on booking and give them notice they will do everything to accommodate the request and are very reasonably priced x

Stay in Old Glossop vs Glossop proper.
Stay in Old Glossop vs Glossop proper. The whole area, however, very scenic. manor Park nice for a walk, especially on a hot day. Aircraftwreck Superfortress ‘Overexposed’ is 4 mile walk uphill but worth a visit. Go,to the Queens Head for a Traditional English Meal vs The Bulls Head for tapas.

Pub is in Old Glossop, 10 - 15 mins. walk from Glossop town centre. Old Glossop very quaint in an interesting way. Two other pubs and a lovely park 2 mins. walk from the Queens. Country walks also right on doorstep. Glossop itself a pleasant town with all the amenities one could reasonably require available. Regular trains from Manchester Piccadilly with a half hour journey time.

The hotel is in a lovely part of the country and is situated in the centre of town with all facilities and was ideal for our party of 6 doing the Trans pennine cycle trail The Norfolk provided excellent secure storage for our bikes.
This is my third time staying at Hawkshead which is just testimony to how lovely it is. Alan and Carole are just so accommodating and friendly and really do go out of thier way to make it a lovely stay . The location is excellent and as someone who stays in alot of hotels and air bnbs, this is honestly the cleanest place I've ever stayed. They really have thought of everything which means I now feel this place is a special home from home. Cannot wait to come back for my 4th visit .
Really well appointed property! So many properties are just that bit below par and you can see where shortcuts are taken and people have skimped. Not here, everything was top notch! Ideally situated for exploring the Northern part of the Peak District. Only a few minutes walk from the town centre. Not far from Manchester if you need a big city. Fantastic friendly, communicative local owner. We really couldn't ask for more for a weekend away.
The location in Old Glossop is really scenic and lovely and the pub itself is lovely and quaint. The room was really clean and really nicely decorated, the bathroom was also spotless and the hosts provided a good variety of amenities. The bed was extremely comfortable and the pillows were really comfy too. The view from our window of the church across the street was beautiful as well. The staff were also really lovely.
Beautiful location! Just what we wanted, wish we stayed there the night before as we had a terrible experience at previous hotel (which was double the price!). but the staff at the bull where very driven to give u the best stay whilst also laid back which made us feel welcome, with a large spotless room and the food was 5⭐️ Will definitely visit again!!
Nice cosy bungalow in a quiet location about 10 minutes walk to town centre. We were stopping for just one night while on a cycle tour and it was perfect for us. The crisps and biscuits provided were much appreciated! Also nice to find the kitchen provided with basics such as tea bags and some cooking oil and a few capsules for the washing machine.
Large family room even though we were only 2 people. Clean with en suite and comfortable bed. Bar had good range of beers and we especially liked the fact that there is an excellent Indian Restaurant on the 1st floor!!! lovely park across the road from the hotel through which you can walk into the town of Glossop.
Easy check-in with staff at the bar in the pub, nice clean rooms with all the expected things, comfy large beds, spacious triple room, views out into the street in the double we had. Good curtains and blinds. Helpful and friendly staff. We ate in the pub with no reservation and the food was a solid 7 out of 10.
We travel extensively for business and visit many hotels. The Queen’s Arms is by the cleanest hotel we have ever stayed in. Everything was so clean that it just sparkled! Kudos to the cleaning staff.
The food served and the willingness to please of the staff. Stayed at Windy Harbour when walking the Pennine Way from North to South. The hotel is about 40 minutes (3.5 km) from the PW at Torside.
I really enjoyed my stay, it was comfortable and cosy. It is dog friendly (with prior agreement) and host provided 2 dog bowls. The house is close to the station.
The beds were so comfortable! The owners have spent a lot of money on detail , and it is lovely.
Well equipped and very clean . Convenient for the town centre.
