Very good breakfast (English or continental), spacious room with large and confortable bed and beautiful bathroom. Friendly and very helpful staff. Good location, near to Belper. The Indian meals served in the pub are very good too: we arrived late but have a table and very good dinner.

Delta Hotels by Marriott Breadsall Priory Country Club, hotel in Codnor

Renovated in 2023, this historic hotel lies within 300 acres of private parkland, a 10-minute drive from Derby. It has a spa, 18-hole golf courses, an indoor pool, and a fitness area.

Kimberley - the restaurant manager was terrible. She would not allow me to take the table I had requested, and made me sit in a dark corner at the back of the restaurant on a sunny evening. I was dining alone which made it worse. I was there trom 18:00-20:00 and the restaurant was st 30% capacity- there were plenty of other tables for me to sit at. She refused. Not at all in line with a 5 star global brand's hospitality level. All other staff and the food were excellent. The pool is very small and they have lots of locals using the facilities at the weekend plus screaming children and babies due to lessons. Not great for a quiet retreat weekend.
