We stopped for a week and I could definitely have stayed longer, money allowing. I really like Charmouth. We went the first time probably 10 years ago and wanted to go back. I was not disappointed. I only went for fossil collecting, and came back very happy.

Wonderful beach for fossil hunting. Make sure you visit the discovery centre on the beach to check out tips on fossil hunting. Staff are very helpful. Charmouth is very small with 2 great pubs and a fish and chip shop so evening meals are limited . Bookings needed for The Royal Oak, but we'll worth it. The George equally great for a relaxed meal.

We went for the fossils so although it was the wrong time of year the process of looking was satisfactory and we had booked a fossil your with Lyme Regis museum which was very good. On a sunny day, you would not want to be anywhere else!
On a sunny day, you would not want to be anywhere else! The sea is shallow and warm. You can walk along the coast, paddling most of the way , to Lyme Regis. There are also many inland footpaths. In the village itself there are a couple of lovely cafes and a couple of pubs. A lovely place to visit.KarenUnited Kingdom
