Amazing place to stay and close to local cafes, resteraunts and canal walks. The Halls 7 acre garden was well worth walking around.
Mostly no one around, so had the whole place to ourselves, although most of the building was closed off and only viewable on their occasional formal tours.

I chose this property specifically to suit my requirements of a quiet dog friendly retreat with a little va va voom and I wasn't disappointed! I came as a single person with one quiet dog and absolutely loved my stay here. It was clean, quiet, welcoming and quite beautiful.
The furnishings, bed, kitchen and shower were amazing with lots of little extras including fresh crusty bread, butter, milk, coffee, teabags and a tin of baked beans - awesome for breakfast. I also loved the olive oil and balsamic vinegar, lovely for dipping the bread in! I had read the instructions and other reviews before I left home and found the property easy to find, the parking easy to find, access to the property was via a very short walk along a brick path - no mud! Hot water was plentiful and kitchen was well stocked for cooking.
The heating in the main area was easy to use with the instuctions provided and the room heated up in minutes. I struggled with operating bathroom heating and the lovely hosts have said they would look at making this clearer for future visitors. The wood fire again had excellent instructions and there was a good supply of everything I needed.
My dog was very welcome and enjoyed the private garden area and provided treats. I liked that the accommodation didn't look, feel or smell 'doggy' when I entered.
It was the perfect location from which to explore Frome, Bradford on Avon, Bath, Wells and Glastonbury. The train from Bradford to Bath is a 10 minute journey and certainly beat driving and finding parking in the city. The local Sainsbury's is a few minutes away from the property and ideal for popping in for dinner bits on the way back from explorations.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would certainly come here again. Many thanks to the hosts.

Location and scenery - waking up with the sound of birds, quietness and the garden views were priceless. Amazing home decoration and very spacious. Great selection of books. Our dog was spoiled and very welcomed with a dog bed, treats, bowl of water...
I wish we could stay longer or come back in the Springtime.

Lots of character and interesting shops.
Lots of character and interesting shops. Choice of eating establishments. Plenty of places for children and dogs. Parking could be a problem. Proximity to river and canal. Plenty of opportunities for walking. Narrow streets cause driving challenges! Lots of charity shops have opened in the past few years. Some interesting historical places to see.

Lots to see, most places easy to access, local artists and creators well supported, unusual and historical architecture, friendly locals, lots of amenities, dog friendly locations, regular bus and trains, lovely canal and boats, tythe barn, Saxon church, vehicular and pedestrian bridges, easy walk around the centre of the town as mainly flat (some more adventurous walks available if interested) , not too crowded (it was January) and easy to get to the centre and find parking, day trips on canal if you are not confident enough to skipper your own

Beautiful place to spend a day or two but a little short of proper pubs.
Tea and coffee shops are in plentiful supply.
Taking a good look around the back streets is a must as they are really interesting with lots of
oldy worldy cottages.

It's an historic town with lots of interesting architectural features. There isn't really a town centre as such, and a main road runs through the middle, rather spoiling it. Lovely churches (one of which is Saxon). It's quite a hilly area so not easy walking round.

One of the most compelling characteristics of Bradford on...
One of the most compelling characteristics of Bradford on Avon is its unique location on the edge of the Cotswolds facing the River Avon.
The ancient bridge in the town’s centre remains its natural focus and it still retains two of its original 13th-century arches. The historical view from the main bridge incorporates the hill above the town which is dotted with the old weavers' cottages. The riverbank is flanked with 19th-century former cloth mills.
Visitors to Bradford on Avon get the best of everything – shopping, accommodation, restaurants and inns, river, canal and amazing local history at every turn.

Helen's breakfasts were excellent! Locally sourced sausages, bacon, eggs and all the other foods were fresh and tasty! This property is off the main road, thus very peaceful and relaxing. A great pub is only minutes away! Our room was exceptionally clean and cozy. This is an active farm, and we loved the sheep and animals nearby, with the big event being witness to a new-born lamb! If you enjoy hiking, stay here as there are so many trails to explore. Bath, Bradford, and many other sites are very close-by as well. Highly recommended!!!!
Wish I had planned my whole trip around staying here. So gracious and welcoming, such a little slice of heaven. Bradford on Avon is delightful and well worth a visit. Bath is a 20 min direct train ride away. Stone Henge is a stone's throw away. There are numerous walking, boating, and biking opportunities and great restaurants. The room itself was immaculately clean and comfy with a lovely bathroom. Breakfast choices are varied and all delicious.
Our room was very cosy. It had everything we needed for a short stay. The shower room is big and was always warm. They have some lovely animals on the farm. The games room is great! There's lots of family games to play. We recived a lovely warm welcome from the hosts. They helped us with an early check-in and were contactable throughout our stay. It's a great location to explore Bradford on Avon and Bath. We would definately stay here again.
The hotel stands in very attractive grounds and gardens. We had a lovely room - spacious, comfortable and clean. It was just a short distance from Trowbridge and Bradford on Avon. We enjoyed the canal walks and the beautiful architecture in both towns, though Bradford is particularly special - a mini Bath.
We ate in the restaurant and found the food and service to be excellent.
We would definitely return when next in the area.
The Swan is close to everything one could want or need in Bradford on Avon. The gorgeous River is right outside the back of the establishment and is surrounded by lovely shops and restaurants. It's also a very short walk to the train station. It was clean and the staff was very friendly.
Herb is situated about 2 miles north of Bradford on Avon, off the main road and down a country lane. If you're after peace and quiet in a rural setting then it's for you. My room was large and had en suite. The breakfast was more than adequate and host friendly and helpful.
Lots of options available at breakfast time, the room was comfortable and bed very comfortable. The location of The Swan was excellent to catch the train into Bath Spa. Bradford on Avon is also a beautiful place to spend time exploring the local area.
Location is great, we traveled on the Great Western Railroad into Bath, the town (Bradford on Avon) is full of history, 500 year old pubs. The town is beautiful. Full of history. Washer and dryer made travelling easier.
The garden, the comfortable room, the swimming pool (the kids love it), great and friendly breakfasts and location near Bradford on Avon which is a super picturesque town, make Widbrook Grange a fantastic weekend away!
It’s a lovely hotel with a beautiful setting. The staff very friendly & helpful - particular shout out to Olivia in the restaurant whose sunny disposition even put a smile on my husband’s morning grumpy face!
Lovely big room with a very nice ensuite
Everywhere was very clean
Very nice breakfast
We would definitely recommend this Guesthouse
