6 beili priory, hotel in Abergavenny

Set 48 km from University of South Wales - Cardiff Campus, 6 beili priory offers accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking.

The house was perfectly located in the centre of the town, but just behind the main high street making it a short walk to the shops. Very quiet also given its location. The house had all amenities and equipment required for both short and long stays. The beds were extremely comfortable and the rooms decorated to a high standard. It was alot more spacious than expected too, but still maintaining a cosy atmosphere. I really did love everything about this house and courtyard area!

We've been visiting Abergavenny for years and it's always been a warm, friendly place. Sadly some of the big retailers have moved on, but there are still the very useful mountain/outdoor shops you need, plus major supermarkets, and a new generation of independent retailers too. More eateries have sprung up, including some very indulgent patisserie shops! The castle is well worth visiting, and there are some self-guided local walks you can find in leaflets that will help you find your way round the town to enjoy its many green spaces. Linda Vista Garden is beautiful and well worth visiting, especially for the brilliant Ambika Social cafe in its grounds - amazing coffee! Ambika is open Thurs - Sun, and also on Bank Holiday Mondays. The theatre offers a varied programme, and you can usually find a tribute show or two on offer. Aber is in easy reach of the Brecon Beacons, and Big Pit (Blaenavon) is close by too and well worth visiting.

A lovely traditional market town, with a pedestrianised high street. A wide variety of independent shops with a good selection . Abergavenny is surrounded by gentle hills that are just inviting you to climb up as a family or individual. The autumn colours were glorious. You can also walk along the river. Whilst a small town it boasts a theatre, a cinema and a large covered market so there’s plenty to do as well as enjoy nature. It is very well connected by train and a mere 25mins from Newport from where you can go just about anywhere. Only 2h20 to London . Will definitely go again and spend more time .

It is a nice place, but don't factor in to long for meandering through a little town center for artisan shops - it doesn't take too long to do. Good options for food....and absolutely encourage anyone to go to the food festival when it is on. Lovely area.

Loved the pub by the train station, the gentlemen there were kind and helpful on a rainy night when the local taxis were too busy to help out of town visitors. Loved the Lamb and Flag Inn and Restaurant which had very good service and delicious food. My room there was extremely comfortable. The WiFi was good, the view was lovely, and the bed was just right. I was very surprised to see that there is a charging station for electric cars in the parking lot which will be a real blessing to anyone who drives those vehicles. Abergavenny has some of the nicest people! Because the taxis were so disappointing I was left accepting the kindness of strangers and a fellow train passenger made sure I was comfortable at the pub while she walked home, got her car, and drove me to my hotel! She stayed and ate dinner with me and we laughed and visited like old friends. In the morning I got a taxi but the driver didn't listen when I said arthritis keeps me from walking well but I did want to see some of the town on the way back to the train station - she dropped me in the middle of town assuring me it would be a short walk to the station. Nearly two miles of pulling my luggage across cobblestones I discovered yet another wonderful woman in Abergavenny! She saw me struggling and pulled her car out, loaded me and my luggage into it and drove me the rest of the way to the train station! People are still willing to go out of their way to help others and Abergavenny has a goodly supply of such people. Oh, and the folks at the Greyhound Rescue thrift store are delightful! I drooled over the selection in the window of the hat shop, and I would have loved to visit with even more of the adorable dogs so many walkers had with them. It is a great town.

the Hotel was centrally located opposite a car park where the charges were very reasonable. The room was very cosy and warm, very clean and comfortable. we had everything that we needed. The breakfast was fabulous and our evening meal was delicious. The staff were all very welcoming and couldn’t do enough to help us. We really enjoyed our stay and wouldn’t hesitate to return. Abergavenny town was only a couple of minutes walk away with lots of local shops and a market most days.

Stunning location , has everything you need as a home from home even some milk in fridge and tea and coffee ready for you. The alpacas are friendly and you can feed them. Owners were lovely and even gave us a lift home from supermarket when we bumped into them. Lots of walks nearby or plenty of area to just chill if you stay in. Was a 40 min walk to train station and just a little more into Abergavenny itself.

The house was ideal for a family reunion - plenty of room for us to spread out - large kitchen and living rooms. Lovely bedrooms and comfortable beds. The garden was lovely, the only snag was the evening and overnight rain! The house was within easy reach of Abergavenny town centre, Crickhowell and the Sugar Loaf mountain. There were plenty of places to eat in both towns - snack lunches or evening meals.

Easy to find, superb location, right next door to the local market (four days a week) Breakfast was extremely good with a choice of cereals, fruit and main course. The Indian restaurant where breakfast was served, also served first class meals at a good price in the evenings. Good internet connection and the best choice of channels on a hotel TV I have seen in a long time.

Picturesque, quiet, secluded location with beautiful views over to the Black mountains. Short walk to Offa's dyke path & White Castle and short drive to Abergavenny & Raglan castle. Comfy beds, great walk in shower. The conservatory was a bonus and made the lodge feel more spacious. Flexible check in. Fi was a great host.

Lovely sitting room and open plan kitchen, with an en-suite bedroom, all accessible via a conservatory. What is there not to like? Very private. All this tucked away on a farm in South Wales just a 17min drive outside Abergavenny.
