The helpfulness of the staff was awesome. They couldn't have been kinder.
Food was good too, the breakfast filled me up for the day
Don't be put off by the outside paintwork. Inside is very different. You enter into a huge hallway, which is very impressive and I was met by very warm and friendly staff.
It has fantastic views all the way to Stirling Castle and the Wallace monument from the lounge.
And my bedroom was huge, with a massive ensuite.
I will return.

Everything about the location and Tony's concept and approach is outstandingly perfect. You feel like you arrive as a stranger and leave as a friend. The cabin is both modern and so cozy, frankly I didn't want to leave it. The cabin has everything to make yourself comfortable. Very good breakfast with vegetarian options for a good start in the day to explore the stunning area of the Trossachs and Stirling city. I'll definitely be back! Thank you Tony, Hamish and Doris for this unforgettable experience and your hospitality.

we were supposedly booked into another hotel and at the last minute we were told there was no booking.
thankfully there was a room available at the Dreadnought hotel for us.
it worked out better for us and have no negatives to report and certainly value for money and a brilliant base to any of the activities available to the area.
will stay again no problem at all.
Aberfoyle is a beautiful little village. You must visit Maggie’s Kitchen. Delicious, traditionally made sweet treats and baked goods.
The wool place is really interesting and fun too. Make sure you visit the little wool hut out the front to get wool and woollen goods made from wool off the sheep just outside the door!
We didn’t visit any of the cafes or pubs as we were following a specific eating plan.. but they all looked fabulous.
Just a lovely part of the world.

We all hated the visit at MacDonald Foresthill's Hotel Aberfeldy. After arriving late evening we checked out the following morning. Hated the Lodge (Spiders and cobweb on balcony and bedrooms), Hotel and resort require extensive upgrade. No internet in lodge, hotel and resort. Would not recommend this place to anyone I know.

We stayed in Aberfoyle at a campsite on the way and hotel on the way back. It was a pleasent village with a sheepdog show if you can catch it at the wool centre. I was disappointed that the wool centre didn't contain wool for crafting but wool products.
The post office was helpful and we had some nice cups of tea and great meal in the forth.
Easy to get around and a large central car park.

Aberfoyle was quite nice for a small village ,was not there long enough to give a good review. Would avoid the Rob Roy hotel if we ever returned, evening meal was a disgrace, the portion size was minute to say the least, the chef needs to rethink when sending out food for adults, we were given a 50 percent discount on the meal but would rather have had a decent meal, felt sorry for the waitresses who bore the brunt of complaint.
This property was right in the center of this quiet town. It was clean, comfortable, tastefully decorated, and had everything we needed. Communication with the host was great. It was a wonderful place to spend the night while traveling through the area. There was a travel information center/shop right across the street. There were also a few paths to walk around in the area.
Staff were very friendly. Jackie checked me in, and was very welcoming. The shower in our designated twin room wasn't working, so I was notified on arrival that we had been moved to two double rooms for no extra charge. It is true that the hotel needs updating, but this is clearly a work in progress. Good shower and radiator.
Wonderfully big apartment, with everything you need!
At arrival the apartment was clean and the owners left a welcome note!
The apartment is located in the centre of the small town of Aberfoyle with nice small shops around.
Would highly recommend staying in this apartment when staying in Loch Lomond & Trossachs national park.
Staff amazing, so friendly!! Rooms huge, comfortable and everything you require for 2 or 3 day stay. Lovely buffet breakfast. Plenty of parking and an easy stroll into Aberfoyle, path behind the hotel - remember your bug repellent for the walk as it is through a tree-lined path beside water - "midge paradise"!
Beautiful hotel with amazing view over the lake. The location is super nice, the bar and the restaurant are super good! A special thanks to Aindi who made our stay amazing due to his hospitality and professionalism. We recommend this hotel !
Lodges we’re well equipped however we’re a bit tired. Lots of mould In silicone in bathrooms. View was stunning and hotel lobby, at and dining areas were clean and tidy. Staff were helpful and attentive however , service was slow.
Hotel was convenient for exploring Aberfoyle and surrounding area.
Good to have tea/coffee facilities in room and nice view from bedroom window.
Also good to be near cycle/walking path to Aberfoyle away from the road.
This was a beautiful country house hotel. Very homely and the hosts were very friendly and caring of our requests. The spectacular views through the glass wall dining room of Loch Ard and Ben Lomond were outstanding.
We booked this for our wedding night as we were having the wedding in aberfoyle! Can't fault it at all, the owners were so nice and accommodating, location is excellent and the views are second to none!
Beautiful location, breathtaking views of the loch from the hotel. Rooms were really clean and comfortable. Food was ok but our day was definitely made by Scott the restaurant manager.
Overall the staff were friendly and welcoming. The hotel is in a nice location in Aberfoyle with plenty parking. The breakfast was really good and enjoyable.
