There is no bar in at the Chateau Which is extremely dissapointing we had to have room service for a drink at night
which was extortionately expensive.
The breakfast had a very poor selection for a hotel of this standard.

A charming property in a rural location, with the town of Ste Foy La Grande in easy reach. Thierry was an excellent host and couldn’t have been more helpful with recommendations (all good) and kind touches.

If you enjoy... welcoming hosts, lively conversation, very tasty home-cooking, a charming old country home with lots of character, interesting artworks, animals (multiple and various!), non-manicured gardens with whispering bamboos and yodelling green tree frogs ... then Le Peyrail awaits you!
It's a unique and enjoyable experience which I recommend and will definitely repeat, but if the above DOESN'T appeal, a generic hotel chain might just suit better...

We haven’t really stayed in the village as we needed an accommodation close to Montazeau. The distances are fine, less than 15 minutes. Sainte Foy la Grande is right next to this village, on the other side of the river Dordogne. Very picturesque, prettiest Saturday market in France!

Port Ste Foy is a Quiet village but with adequate shops for self catering. Close to Ste Foy La Grande which has a variety of shops and Saturday market.
Bergerac airport and town less than an hour away.
Close to wine regions of Bergerac and Bordeaux. Vineyard tours available locally.
Peaceful walks along the Dordogne.
Ponchapt is up in the hills, very quaint. Village holds regular events ( pig fest, village picnics etc ) always welcoming if you are lucky enough to visit at the right time.
