The young woman who was at the desk was exceptional. She carried our heavy suitcase up the stairs for us to our corner room. She was very personable, informative, and accommodating. The hotel is fortunate to have her on staff.

This visit (my second to Amiens) Day 1 started at the Saturday canal-side market, lots of stalls with seasonal vegetables, fruit and herbs grown in the Hortonillage and the Somme region. Then I dipped into some shops - including an inspiring visit to the ground floor of the big Monoprix where clever lighting makes quite ordinary day to day food look irresistible, some of the many new and secondhand bookshops, a huge ironmongers and an over-the-top patisserie. In the afternoon, to Jules Verne's house: a wonderfully, eccentric building; full of marvellous furniture and objects, very well curated. I spent the whole of Day 2 (7 am - 4 pm at the extraordinary - huge - Spring Braderie. I found that my visit to the Jules Verne house, and its thoughtful interpretation made the market especially enjoyable. Many of the stalls had examples of the things I had found so interesting in the house - for instance archeological finds, including flint axes, found around Amiens; corals and shells; endless examples of oil lamps (some working, other 'do-er' uppers). Many stalls had very good pieces of ceramic from different periods and cultures. Lots of the stall holders were up for a good bit of haggling. Then a glass of beer in the sun-shine ,sitting on the street outside a cafe, buzzing with laughing locals and visitors.
Amiens is a very walkable city, its buildings are fabulous. It's lively and very clean.

Lovely old town centre and especially the cathedral.
Lovely old town centre and especially the cathedral. Well worth a look around. Nice cafes. Parking was initially a problem as large town centre car park ticket machines did not work. We got a side street machine which worked fine.

Amiens is a small city, and perfect for walking.
Amiens is a small city, and perfect for walking. The cathedral in particular, is spectacular, but it's not the only place of interest in, or around, the town. St Leu, and Les Hortillonnages, plus Le Jardin des Plantes, are well worth visiting and, of course, many of the WW1 sites are within very easy reach, by car.

The old town around the canals was the most interesting along with the cathedral in the central square near to the Tourist Office.
Some lovely waterfront cafes. Free bus transport on Saturdays on a simple, easy to understand network.
The STAFF - Martina, Wendy and Bronilda were so AMAZING, Helpful and Warm. We spent our Christmas weekend at the Hotel de L’Univers and Martina went out of her way in helping with restaurants open. They made us feel at home
The LOCATION - The BEST location right in the heart of everything yet the walls are insulated so you aren’t disturbed in the night. I checked the whole street and this is the ONLY hotel that is on the Christmas Market and other summer activities
The Gem is ideally located for a few days in Amiens, the heart of the city centre is all within easy walking distance. We didn't need the car during our stay so having free parking at the end of the road was really helpful.
Recommendations for dinner options were spot-on and really good bread, croissants, coffee and juice for breakfast.
The room was spacious, comfortable and peaceful.
This was a much better option than similarly priced chain hotels.
Everything top notch. Beautiful spacious apartment. Bbest equipped rental I have ever had. They had everything— full set pots and pans, iron and ironing board….very lovely canal view, wake up to birds singing. Couldn’t be more centrally located. Owner was incredibly nice….very graciously picked us up from train station and on our departure his father drove us back to station at 6:30 am!!!
This is great hotel located only a few minutes walk from the cathedral and St Leu - ideal for exploring Amiens. It's an Ibis Styles so you sort of know what to expect but the lobby area with it's comfy seating areas, outdoor spaces and large bar is really great. The staff were really helpful and breakfast was good. The air con certainly works in the rooms!
Bed was very comfortable and I had the best night sleep for a long time
Continental breakfast was fair to good. Lots of it and it was replenished frequently.
Receptionists on both days were very nice and helpful. All the staff seemed very friendly and helpful.
Room was quiet from outside noise and there was a fan if you got hot.
Location was excellent
I stayed at Hotel Le Prieuré which is literally next the the Cathedrale of Amiens, so the location is beautiful.
The crew was nice with assisting me with my bags to my room, which was in another building nearby.
The bathrooms were nice and clean same as the room. The breakfast was complete as well, even with pancakes and fresh fruit.
Small hotel very close to the train station. The hotel is also a block away from the main pedestrian area with many restaurants and stores. The staff was very welcoming and friendly even though language was a barrier.
The room was comfy. The hotel also have a small garden where we were able to have a drink in the evening.
We arrived late but a quick phone call got us inside and into our room. We found this a charming, character-full hotel. The breakfast was very good and the staff were friendly. The cleanliness and excellent bed were much appreciated. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for an authentic French hotel experience.
By far this was my best stay of all the places in France I have been. I was comfortable and had access to a refrigerator as well as dishes and a wonderful bathroom. When I come back to Amiens with my wife I will be wanting to stay here again. Convenient to the rail station and to the cathedral. A perfect home stay.
Brilliant small family run art deco hotel in middle of Amiens. Exceptional value for money. Staff could not have been more helpful and flexible. Super clean facilities and bed linen and mattress were of a quality that you rarely find even in so-called 5 star hotels
Private parking and terrace definite bonus. We were in Amiens to cycle on the Somme Valley Cycle Route and close proximity to the river was great too. The owner was very helpful before and during our stay and nice little touches in apartment for our stay.
It was a new hotel. Easy parking, clean and friendly staff. There was also public transportation very close. We stayed at four hotels in France and this was the only hotel that had a/c that cooled the room.
.Julie was a wonderful host. The breakfast had such a variety, many treats homemade. Eggs, bacon, and French toast to order and feshly served.
Our best stay in France 🇫🇷 food wise.
This hotel was in an excellent location to historic Amiens - a mere 3 minutes from the cathedral. There is public parking close-by (we arrived by car). The hotel was fine.
This hotel is well located in a very calm part of Amiens. Moreover the rooms are modern and very clean. We would certainly like to stay here again if we return to Amiens.
This is my most favorite place to stay in Amiens. It is just wonderful. That there is a view of the most beautiful cathedral in the world makes it even more special
Very good location, very friendly staff. We are on a two month holiday around France, we are going back there for another few nights. Very secure car park.
