Santiago de Compostela is a nice place to visit but way more crowded than I anticipated. Suggest pre booking tickets to things you want to see. The cathedral and museum was wonderful. Also, suggest reviewing restaurant options and make reservations early for popular places. And pre-arrange a taxi two days prior to airport departure. If arriving by bus also pre-arrange a taxi.

We enjoyed visiting the cathedral and the surrounding old town. Also seeing the steady stream of pilgrims arriving elated at the main square in front of the cathedral. We had hoped to see the priests swinging the censor during mass, but this apparently only happens on certain days of the year.
