The area is very beautiful, and with the right weather, one...
The area is very beautiful, and with the right weather, one can enjoy the nature, hikes and bike rides, as well as other activities. The village itself is very small, and during the time we visited (April, rainy and cold week), it was almost empty. During this time, most restaurants were closed, and the few open ones closed early. So better bring some food with you when you come in such weather. In addition to nature, there are some other activities that can be enjoyed, like: bath/spa places (we went to the one in Achen which was very good) and amusement part - Phantasialand. Just check reviews before you go, so that they will meet your needs and expectations. All in all, this is a wonderful park, lots of amazing nature and very nice to walk around.

Very much a "nature lovers" sort of place, but a great base...
Very much a "nature lovers" sort of place, but a great base with excellent access to superb motorcycling roads - which is why we were there. Quite a sleepy place in the evenings, so plan ahead if you want to eat and drink. Restaurant Cafe "Zur Post" on the left as you enter from the 266 does good food at a sensible price. A trip on the lake is a pleasant way to while away an hour or two.

The hotel is near to the road, but it was very silent at the evening and night. The shower was clean and good. The kitchen was good equipped. Lots of good restaurants and cafes are around the hotel that worked also in public holidays. Free parking. The place was fantastic with beautiful walking routes that also fit for small kids and for strollers. We will back for sure!

Considering the regulations, we were made really welcome and the Hotel is perfect for all types of activity. Cycling, hiking or just enjoying the Eifel. We could also store our e-bikes overnight. You can easily plan a ship tour of the Rursee from here as the ship anchor here overnight.
