I received a lovely welcome and the room was clean and comfortable.
Breakfast was unfussy and I liked the homemade jam.

Hotel that seems to be run by several young staff. Good breakfast. Very attentive staff - we wanted to watch the rugby world cup game on tv, but couldn't get it in our room, but the young girl found it on the tv in the breakfast room and we wanted it there with a couple of beers. Probably about a 20 min. walk into the town - good for walking off the drink/food. Would easily stay there again.

A pleasant small town in a lovely location.
A pleasant small town in a lovely location. Not that many shops, but more than enough for visitors. There isn't much to see in town, but as a base for exploring the area it's very well located. The town has a good selection of restaurants and bars too

Boppard is a quaint town on the banks of the Rhine and is ideal as a base for exploring the villages and castles along the river. Also a great base for a trip down the river on one of the cruise ships. Loads of good places to eat or just have coffee or ice cream!

Boppard is a charming place and I have visited many times in the past. It is easy to reach via train from Frankfurt and a good base to explore further by train, Mainz, Cologne, Koblenz and Bonn are all within a 2 hour train ride. Unless you really want to you do not need to hire a car as there is plenty to see via public transport. It's an area which seems more popular with mainland European than UK travellers but it doesn't feel overcrowded or overly busy, it has an interesting centre with lots of nice cafes, ice cream parlours and independent shops. Along the riverfront are several excellent restaurants. The Roman remains are interesting and we spent our only wet afternoon at the museum, which was also interesting and free with the Guest card. The fact that the guest card entitles you to free public transport within the area is a huge bonus and we also made use of the discount on KD cruises with a trip back from Rüdesheim to Oberwesel and then back to Boppard on the train. 5 days to a week is the perfect length of time here and allows for some real relaxation as well as new things to see.

Boppard is a lovely town with very nice places to eat and drink. There is planty to see and do - we went on the chair lift to Gedeonseck, a viewpoint high above the river with a very nice bar / restaurant - take your binoculars! It is also a good base for walking or cycling in the area.
The town is well served by means of getting about, there is a regular train service to Koblenz and Mainz (well worth it just for the views) and also frequent river cruises in both directions. There is also a place you can hire bicycles (including electric ones).
Although Boppard doesn't have its own castle, there are a number within easy reach such Castle Katz and Casle Maus (near St Goarshausen).

Bad Salzig - I only needed one night to get to Koblenz on the next day, there is not much I can tell about Bad Salzig as such. However, a long walk through the park (towards the hills south west) proved that Bad Salzig deserves the "Bad" in the name.

Boppard is right on the Rhine and in the middle of the Rhine...
Boppard is right on the Rhine and in the middle of the Rhine wine country. Many tour boats are based in Boppard and the Regional Train stops here and at every other little town between Koblenz and Mainz. This means you can easily visit all the wineries and never have to worry about driving; so enjoy! There are many good restaurants in Boppard also. But many do not take credit cards, so be sure to ask before you sit if you need to use a credit card - and carry cash.
I was hiking the RheinBurgenWeg, and since there was no possibility to stay at my next planned stop in Hirzenach, I last minute booked a room in Hünsrucker Hof in Boppard. It was reasonably priced and still had rooms available, but the hotel largely exceeded my expectations. Hünsrucker Hof provides simple but clean rooms and has a cute 50s style design interior. In the morning you're welcomed with music playing from an old record player and a nice breakfast buffet. The staff is very friendly.
Hotel Sonnenhof is perfectly placed to explore Boppard and the Rhine, being only a two minute walk from the river. Michael and his wife (and Buddy the dog) are excellent hosts who made us feel extremely welcome, as well as giving us all the information we needed to make the most of our stay. My dog Harry enjoyed lots of extra treats as well! Would definitely recommend.
We were pleasantly surprised by the hotel. The hotel has been fully renovated and it was GREAT! Comfy rooms, beds and nice bathrooms. The photos of the hotel were exactly as the hotel is, new and perfect! Great view of the Rhein! Breakfast was perfect! We had half-board and were also very happy with their dinner offerings. Great value! We will stay here again!
So clean everywhere, very comfortable beds, nice bathroom with shower. Staff helpful and friendly. The food and wine very good! I am not very mobile so it was helpful that there was a lift which our room was near and a different stairs to use to access the hotel. The front terrace overlooking the Rhine is beautiful! The boat goes right outside for river trips.
i love that it was overlooking the Rhine, i love Stephanie - thank you! she made us feel welcome, very gracious, we had dinner in our room, in the terrace with the Rhine, and our Bromptons, thank you for that!
we featured them in our channel! please let them know we totally loved our stay! danke, danke!

The suite was visually wonderful. Supremely cared for, with lovely décor. The location is perfect… overlooking the Rhine; close to restaurants, yet not in the middle of congested areas; and a 6 minute walk to the train station.
I would certainly have given RhineSuites a 5-star had it not been for a misunderstanding with the owner on the night we arrived.
The location was central to everything. The hosts, Georg and Maria, were so very nice. They were extremely hospitable and we felt like they were old friends. The place was very clean and comfortable. If you’re planning on staying in the Rhine valley this is the place. Our hosts led us to local establishments and gave us the authentic German experience.
The location was wonderful. Nancy our host was extremely helpful guiding us with her personal touch to local information and to wonderful restaurants. Nancy was exceptional at making us feel welcome, nothing was too much to ask and was greeted with a smile. Lovely family. We highly recommend this hotel!!!
The room was part of a hotel complex so had beautiful finishings and well thought out solid bunks with chargers, lights etc. It had clean white sheets, pillows and duvet. Heavenly. It was on the river and opposite the station and close to the village square.
Much bigger than expected. Really close to everything that we needed.
Great Facilities. Great View. Clean, Fresh and Tastefully decorated. Parking at rear met our needs. What an absolute gem! There's so much to do and see in Boppard.
The breakfast buffet was amazing! We had a balcony room so could sit outside and watch the ships go by and the ferry cross the river. Very close to docking for Rhine cruises. We were able to find parking available when we needed it.
Situated on the river promenade great view of the Rhein. Two minutes walk away from the main shopping street and right next to the market square with excellent cafes bars and weinhausen. The hotel has its own busy restaurant.
Excellent location and good value. Very friendly and accommodating owners. Excellent breakfast spread. Had dinner at the hotel one night which was similarly delicious.
The room was great! Hotel staff was very helpful and hard working. Breakfast was lovely, as was the local wine we enjoyed outside the hotel bar. Thanks!
