Excellent place to stay, has everything you need whether your staying just 1 night or 20+ nights. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Everything worked fine and was all well kept. Very good location wise not far off the highway too. Free parking was also nice and easy. The owners were both lovely, making sure we were good and comfortable throughout our stay and that we got into our room fine even though we arrived late at night. Will certainly be back again one day as we both enjoyed it very much.

Bouillon is a small town with a lot of vacant stores and houses. The small centre has a limited number of restaurants and drinking establishments. The higher parts of the town are dominated by hotels, and of course the famous fort. Of course, the fort is the highlight of the town and a great location to visit for a day or two, including a fun birds of prey show.

Great city in a great historic environment.
Great city in a great historic environment. Magnificent castle, woods and river.
But city infrastructure needs improvement badly.
Some things give impression that local municipality does not care at all.

Nice town, although many restaurants, shops and bars didnt appear to open every day, so difficult to plan a visit to a recommended restaurant , only to find it closed when you visit. Didnt expect it to be closed on a friday night for example

A town that I suspect has seen its glory a couple of decades ago. Yet still full of lovely brasseries and tea rooms and shops and of course bieres ! Walking along and sitting with a view of the river is an experience I want to repeat. These Belgian towns by the river, like Dinant and Bouillon are just what my sould needs.

Nothing was open as per their schedules on brochures, signs and on-line. All the sights now have a communal ticket, but only one facility was open in the time we were there, and even that one waited until after we had paid to tell us they closed in an hour. Also (not the facility's fault, but they had apparently approved it ...), there was a musician on the site filming a music video who berated us for walking through the shot, even though we had no way of knowing that filming was ongoing - also asked us to wait to continue our tour, in spite of the fact that we had been told by the admission agent to hurry. Missed the bird show, which we weren't expecting to see because the website said it wasn't even taking place due to Corona. Altogether a waste of money . a disappointment that we couldn't see anything we paid for.
SatNav struggled at first to find the location. It is not in the centre of Bouillon but rather on a steep hill and not suitable for someone less mobile or in a wheelchair. Uphill walk from town about 15-20 minutes (you need to be relatively fit!). Lovely traditional house, very quiet location, rooms a bit dated but all clean. Good hot water system, nice modern TV, kitchen with lots of 'stuff'. Plenty of parking for our 3 motorbikes.
Excellent breakfast buffet with a wide variety of food, homemade cakes, one of the best fruit salads I've ever had, and made-to-order pancakes and omelettes. Hotel is run by a lovely, welcoming husband and wife team. Location is easy to access by car and within walking distance to everything. Spacious room with a very comfortable bed and pillows. Modern, clean bathroom. Will gladly stay at Hotel Bouillon again.
We were on the second floor and you have a nice view from the room on bouillon. Diner is a fixed menu and was very good, there is however no choice in main course if it is something you don't like there is no alternative. Rooms were very clean as was the lobby and terrace outside. With temperatures going above 30 it was nice to sit on the terrace of the hotel lobby, the bar had a good selection of drinks.
The room is clean, cosy and user-friendly. The location is great, two minutes walk to the center. The view of the town and the castle from the deck while having the breakfast is fabulous. Home-made butter and various jams also show the deep caring from Henry and Valery to travellers who stay in their property.
Golden Lion is certainly atypical place, so some people who prefer more convenient places might find some things unusual
But I like the atypical boutique hotel and bed and breakfasts so for me the place is just perfect.
Little onsite library of old books and exhibition of local artists adds a charm.
A wonderful location in Bouillon, close to the river and all the bars and restaurants. Bouillon is a beautiful town with so many sights and walks nearby.
The apartment is lovely. Modern, clean with great furniture and facilities. Cecile is a kind and attentive host. Merci Cecile.
Very nice historic and atmospheric hotel in the beautiful and interesting town of Bouillon in the Ardennes. The French Emperor Napoleon III stayed in the suite of the hotel in 1870 on the last night where he was still officially emperor. Beautiful restaurant with gourmet dinners.
Perfect central location in the village next to the river. Very good restaurant in the hotel. The hotel and restaurant are located on a corner, so there is wide open space and view on almost all sides. Easy parking. Very nice staff.
Very nice location, and although located in the center of Bouillon, a very quiet place.
The owners are super friendly and welcome you on arrival.
The house is spacious and has all the amenities you need.
Location was great,.host communications were good until we arrived and then became slow. House has a lovely stove and all the things you need apart from bed linen due to "law" in Belgium
brilliant location and amazing views 'panoramic' ! friendly and helpful staff. Proper quality pool table in the bar area. very big breakfast / buffet spread. fully recommended hotel.
As Australians travelling a bit off the beaten track it was great to have a bilingual host to guide us, enabling us to see what Bouillon had to offer. Well worth a visit!
Cosy place with a lot of amenities, decorated with taste, great location in Bouillon and… exceptional host! The fire was cracking in the fireplace on our arrival
