Stanley is a unique location with a rich history. Staying at the Ship Inn helped us to appreciate this location and its history. Excellent eating places within easy walking distance - Stanley Hotel provided a very enjoyable meal; Hurseys is a must visit with great seafood dishes, with an array of other options. Stanley is very easy to get around both on foot and by car. Only one bowser for petrol provided a challenge, but is easily managed. A great place to visit.

Nicely set up for tourists, with a wide range of accommodation options. A good base for exploring The Tarkine Drive (and some short walks along the route). Stanley has specially designed, red-lit platforms for admiring the little penguins coming ashore in the evenings. There is a nice, wind-swept walk around the top of the Nut, which hosts a colony of pademelon.

Penguin viewing, walking the town and enjoying a great coffee at Marley’s and excellent takeaway fish and chips from Hurseys. We arrived at 8 pm on Day 1. Spent Day 2 visiting the Tarkine area then walked around Stanley. Day 3 we enjoyed the Harvest Market - excellent for fresh produce, craft and music.

Accommodation was superb and pub was just across the road. If we had more time, it looks like a lovely little town to walk around. Definitely take the chair lift instead of walking up the hill. Then you have the energy to walk around the top of The Nut.

Stanley is a beautiful town with lovely houses and places to eat, drink and shop. A trip on the chair lift to the top of The Nut was excellent. Icing on the cake was seeing the little blue o penguins come home after a days’ fishing.

Loved the location right on the Main Street and so close to everything. The cottage was quite perfect with lots of thought into what would make a guest’s visit extra special……candies, chocolates, lots of different teas to pick from, a decanter of port, and lots of breakfast goodies. We had a beautiful view from the cottage and wished we could have stayed longer than just the one night. There even was a Christmas tree up for the holiday season! Might come back to Stanley from Canada just to stay at Touchwood again!

Everything about this property was excellent. It delivered everything it promised. While some accommodation looks good in the photos but is disappointing when you arrive this was not one of them. The property provided everything you could need. The view was stunning, the location perfect and the neighbourhood was quiet. The walking path was right out the front, the beach just a few steps further and a stroll to the Stanley Hotel for an excellent evening meal was a delight.

One of the greatest places in Tasmania! We have been to several places for our friends but this place was the best so far :) The fire place was set up nicely and the balcony area has enough space for us to have bbq and speaker was set up as well ! Plus, a little gaming area was entertaining:) definitely will come back some day again ! Thank you so much !

Everything, amazing location overlooking the bay, garden lanscaping was an amazing achiement with abundant rock walls beneath the towering iconic "Nut". The communal lounge and library had a beautiful ambiance and was a great place to have an evening drink. This is a must stay for anyone visiting Stanley, we will be back.

We stayed in Sea Salt House for two nights. Beautifully comfortable bed with luxurious linens. Exceptionally close to the shops (highly recommend Stanley Hotel and the Providore), and a short walk to the Nut. Although the house could do with a bit of a spring clean, we loved staying here.

The rooms are total luxury. Everything is of the highest quality, the furnishings, bedding, etc., great location too being right off the gorgeous Main Street of Stanley. The continental breakfast was simple. Cereal, toast with homemade jams & stewed fruit, yoghurt etc., but plentiful.
