We enjoyed a fabulous Ravenswood Retreat.
We enjoyed a fabulous Ravenswood Retreat. The host Shirley and Bob are fabulous hosts. Bob gave us a ride in his vintage car to visit all the animals which was a treat. Accommodation was very well appointed and very clean. Everything that you could want for a long stay. Recommend highly.

The owner and host at Ravenswood was just lovely - extremely helpful and informative regarding the history of the property, and generous with her time and advice. We stayed in the gardener's cottage which was super charming and the front room (with double bed) was just perfect for a couple - and toasty warm. The second room, furnished for kids with a number of single beds was lovely, but not designed as stand-alone accommodation (fair enough), so we did find Dad wandering in to our room to try and watch the cricket on TV. Turns out the mobile signal is strong enough to stream on the iPad though :). The 2 separate bathrooms is genius. I thought the drive to local eateries would be a drag, but it was very easy as there are any number of lovely spots within a 15-20 min drive. The communal kitchen was a good size and was well-appointed, but we didn't get the opportunity to really use it - we just hung out in the room with a glass of wine after dinner. Perfect! We'll definitely be back, and can highly recommend the cottage to families (and/or a small, quiet group of mates) looking for a peaceful, charming weekend away.
