Both the train and Flix bus station were only steps away. We didn't try the buses but found it easy to take the train for day trips to Leuven and Ghent, and then onwards to Brugge (Bruges). The apartment itself is clean and has all the amenities for your stay, but the biggest asset is the accommodating and caring host. The kitchen is small but has a couple of burners and a good sized microwave.
